This song is receiving a healthy dose of spins from satellite, and a few terrestrial stations are catching on. From wikipedia, their bio: The Ting Tings are an English indie/electronic band, consisting of two members: Jules De Martino (drums, vocals) and Katie White (vocals, guitar, bass drum). They formed in 2006 when based at Islington Mill, Salford; a building that is home to artists and emerging creative ventures dealing in everything from fine art to theatre and film. Their debut album We Started Nothing is coming out in May. So, there you have it. And this is the video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=myJnsqGgxxMThoughts?

More suited to pop would be the best I could say. I couldnt listen to that very much at all because it annoys me when she keeps saying "the drums, the drums, the drums".
That video was MUCH better when it was called Groove Is In the Heart.

Great song. I agree with you tragicallyripped about this would be more suited to pop however I think Pop wouldn't touch this because its too eccentric so Alternative is the best bet. I'd like to hear more new material from them.

Oh please, Groove Is In The Heart has been remade by nearly electronic band in the past 20 years. It set a whole new low standard for camp videos.

Thoughts? Let's just say I can smell a one-hit wonder by a mile. But what a hit! And "Groove Is In The Heart", a bad video?!?!?!?! Lord, have mercy, for she doesn't know what she's saying!

At the very least Groove is in the Heart was a FUN video. This seriously sucks the life outta me trying to watch their little arm waves and the color changes. I'm really not impressed much with the video or the song. edit**** - or the NAME......the TING TINGS.....are you serious. If I asked an Asian person if they had heard the Ting Tings, I'd probably get slapped. Say it out loud, and then imagine yourself asking ANYBODY about this band.

I just so happened to download this song ironically now before seeing this thread. Yeah, it's a good and catchy song, but I could do without that "the drums the drums the drums" part. I think this would be only suited on Alternative and wouldn't do squat on pop.

I agree that the band name is execrable. It does not even qualify as literary nonsense; it's just plain stupid.
But I like the song.

Popjustice has been banging on about this quite a bit so I gave it some attention...it's pretty catchy and cute, but I think it would wear on me pretty quickly after several listens.

I honestly wouldn't have noticed if "Famous" wasn't such a horrific song.

I almost didn't dare ask because I thought it'd be revealed as an April Fools' Joke.

I almost didn't dare ask because I thought it'd be revealed as an April Fools' Joke. Heh heh. I never thought of that since I guess it could be, but that wouldn't stump people too much.

Not really feeling this one... at least not yet.
I do like the opening riff that's clearly stolen from Split Enz "I Got You", but hate the vocals.

Can't stand it, but it could have been worse, such as, in an Apple commercial played to the masses like that CSS song last year.

Not really, because the song is on the radio now, which never happens until after it pops out of Apple's kangaroo pouch, if it goes that way.

It's still underground enough where Steve Jobs could "discover" it. It probably won't happen, but I guarantee someone at Apple noticed this song at some point.

Yeah, it does seem like the type of song they'd use. I don't think it's catchy enough to be commercialized though, and it's probably too late anyway.

OH MY GOD! THAT TING TING YOU DO: Buzzers are buzzing about Columbia Records U.K. sensations The Ting Tings, whose “Shut Up and Let Me Go” is featured in the latest Apple iPod + iTunes TV ad, which premiered last night during Desperate Housewives and Family Guy. The band’s album, We Started Nothing, is slated for digital release on May 20. The single is available at iTunes. Watch the ad at www.apple.com/itunes and visit the band at www.myspace.com/thetingtings. (4/28p) I WASN'T TOTALLY OFF. btw I think I saw this ad yesterday, but didn't know who it was.

Oh wow. They're on the Apple launching pad now!
Do you think they can have the same success as Feist or CSS? I can see them shooting up itunes very soon.
