It'll be a very tight race for the final position on Sunday; look at this: 2 Days Ago: 2 1 LEONA LEWIS Bleeding Love 2149 2071 78 Today: 2 1 LEONA LEWIS Bleeding Love 2085 2090 -5 -64 Spins -83 Bullet Audience has also taken a hit. In comparison: 2 Days Ago:1 2 SARA BAREILLES Love Song 2086 2240 -154 Today: 1 2 SARA BAREILLES Love Song 2084 2213 -129 -2 Spins +25 Bullet Sara may just get one more week yet. ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0244.gif)

The syndicated programming really wreaks havoc with the AC chart on a daily basis... it's not unusual to see songs gain 70 spins one day, lose 70 the next and then gain 75 the day after that... I've been following Leona's run here since the beginning with a daily update on one of her fansites, and it's been an interesting study to say the least...
As for this battle, there's really no telling what will happen this week... when there's a close battle, the syndicated spins for the week are what usually make the difference.

In today's update, Sara takes back the lead, gaining 4 spins. Leona loses only 2, but it's enough for her to slip back down to #2.
1 1 SARA BAREILLES Love Song 2088 2175 -87 16.516 2 2 LEONA LEWIS Bleeding Love 2083 2125 -42 17.062
I'm fairly certain Leona lost a little bit of audience, but I'm not sure whether Sara gained any.

Yeah; Leona and Sara have still been flip-flopping all week and it looks like Sara will bag ANOTHER week at the penthouse. ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0244.gif) Although at this point I'd like Sara to steal Colbie's record for longest run at the top, just as compensation for Bottle It Up flopping. ![:-X](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/lipssealed.png)

Looks like Sara's going to manage to be ahead again, though it's a 2 spin difference at the moment:
1 1 SARA BAREILLES Love Song 2065 2120 -55 16.577 2 2 LEONA LEWIS Bleeding Love 2063 2104 -41 17.658

This gives "Love Song" a 14-week run at #1, while "Bleeding Love" has only 1 week @ #1 to its credit. Thinking that David Cook might have the next shot at #1, followed by Coldplay.

In today's update, Leona lost a stack of spins; Sara only dropped 4. ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0244.gif) This whole scenario is crazy! ![:-X](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/lipssealed.png)

I *think* this may have finished top this week - it's been swapping positions every day for two weeks with Love Song.

I'm glad she finally made it to #1, even if it was only for a single week.

Yup... she got the one week in (by 23 spins):
8/31/08 final chart:
2 1 LEONA LEWIS Bleeding Love 2050 2063 -13 16.825 1 2 SARA BAREILLES Love Song 2027 2066 -39 16.449 3 3 DAVID COOK Time Of My Life 1962 1991 -29 15.467 4 4 JOHN MAYER Say 1809 1774 35 13.133 5 5 DAUGHTRY Feels Like Tonight 1454 1517 -63 11.953
The top 3 continue to be very close, with Leona moving back up to #2 today... I think David Cook's song will burn out pretty quickly. I wouldn't at all be surprised to see Leona log another week or two at the top.

Finally got there!
And what a tight battle - could those top 3 continue to swap places in the immediate future?

Finally got there! And what a tight battle - could those top 3 continue to swap places in the immediate future? This week, David Cook was king... at the moment he's still leading, but it could change from one day to the next... any of the 3 could lead next week... 2 1 DAVID COOK Time Of My Life 2073 1913 160 16.966 3 2 SARA BAREILLES Love Song 2014 1903 111 16.262 1 3 LEONA LEWIS Bleeding Love 2014 1967 47 17.522

Back @ #1 if she can hold it to Sunday's update??
3 1 LEONA LEWIS Bleeding Love 2111 1877 +234 2 2 DAVID COOK Time Of My Life 2055 1929 +126 1 3 SARA BAREILLES Love Song 1922 1937 -15
Not sure about the AI as all 3 havel increased significantly from last week on the link at the top of the AC forum but with some of the spins decreasing I'm not quite sure how this works.

1 1 DAVID COOK Time Of My Life 2066 2146 -80 17.357 2 2 LEONA LEWIS Bleeding Love 1839 1910 -71 15.875 3 3 NATASHA BEDINGFIELD Pocketful Of Sunshin... 1776 1787 -11 14.064 4 4 SARA BAREILLES Love Song 1691 1773 -82 13.056 5 5 COLDPLAY Viva La Vida 1662 1642 20 12.773
Meanwhile, "Better In Time" is tracking towards a February, 2009 top 10 entry:

This is the Bleeding Love chart run:
Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks* (entered on 26th April, 2008)
21-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-1-2-1-2-2-1-1-2-2-2-2-2
Seventeen weeks at #2 !!
*This is the correct chart in case anyone asks - on Billboard AC radio = the chart called "Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks" and HAC radio = the chart called "Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks".

I don't know if it's a record, but it's certainly spending forever and a day at #2... has a shot at getting back to #1 at some point. It will be interesting to see what happens when everyone starts dumping spins for Christmas music.

^Celine Dion's "That's The Way It Is" spent like 19 weeks at #2.
