AC takes forever to get on stuff, so expect a long, slow ride... as is here's the latest:
32 23 LEONA LEWIS Bleeding Love 224 114 110 3.642
BTW, she is 16th in audience thanks to some of the early support from the large markets.

While I'm surprised that it has taken this song for AC to pick up on the song, it's not THAT surprising since Hot AC was so late on it too. But Leona reminds me more of Celine than Mariah so I'm thinking this could actually be #1 on the format for the year.

This sounds a lot like a song that was popular sometime over the past few years, but I can't quite put my finger on it. It's not "The Way I Are", like someone mentioned this having the same beat. It's the melody. The song I'm thinking on is right on the tip of my tongue, but I just can't quite think of it.

Wow can't see any similarity at all with The Way I Are (sure you have the right song lol)...to me it sounds a little like Umbrella, Tattoo, Teardrops On My Guitar (pop remix), and No Air...and maybe a little like Too Little Too Late by Jojo - and Eighth World Wonder by Kimberly Locke

What sort of total AI can be expected from AC? Thing about AC is it doesn't give a huge AI all at one time...but if it picks up a song and sticks with it, it'll play that song for years - so the song's total AI (after an extended period of time) gets ridiculously high...thinkin that's what might happen with this ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0270.gif)

^Actually, the song that it reminds me of is "No Air". But the chorus of THAT song reminds me a little bit of another song, but I'm not sure which one it is.

^Actually, the song that it reminds me of is "No Air". Same here...big time, but I guess lots of other people (on other threads) don't hear it - I can't remember the last time IMO that the #1 and #2 songs on CHR sounded so similar... Bleeding Love def. "trumps" No Air though...big time ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0270.gif)

It was also released first so No Air sounds like Bleeding Love, not the other way round ;)

^It depends on the order in which you heard them. I heard "No Air" about a month before the first time I heard "Bleeding Love", so that's why I said that the latter sounds like the former.
Or I could simply say the two songs sound similar.

"Bleeding Love" sounds like a typical Mariah Carey song from the early-to-mid-'90s era. Although it's a different melody than a lot of her songs, Leona's vocals are nearly idential to Mariah's. I even read where one of Leona's influences was Mariah Carey!
As far as going to #1, I think it will later this summer and stay there for a very very very very very very long time - possibly well into '09 after it's long forgotten about at CHR and Hot AC.

Took over the audience lead today on Mediabase... I'd assume it's going to be #1 on Billboard's AC chart this week...

Or I could simply say the two songs sound similar. I don't think the songs sound alike. Once "Bleeding Love" exploded on CHR, I thought it would be a matter before AC latches on. I do agree with Shocker about it sounding like a 90s Mariah Carey song. In fact, it kinda sounds close the remix of "Someday" or even "Always Be My Baby".

Lol - probably still be top 10 in a years time. The way this chart works, it's a possibility... though they do remove songs after 52 weeks if they are down in spins no matter position they are in other than #1... Colbie Caillat's "Bubbly" went recurrent in this way while still at #5 on the chart!!!

Fantastic that it finally got there!!!
Wow, its hard to imagine the song still being top 10 in a year!!
But you guys clearly know how the US charts work so I ain't doubting you at all!
How many songs manage to go to #1 on 3 major formats - is it common?

How many songs manage to go to #1 on 3 major formats - is it common? It isn't all that common... Sara Bareilles was the last one to hit the top of the same three formats as Leona hit the top of. I'm pretty sure "Apologize" and "No One" hit #1 on at least 3 major formats as well... I'd have to check to be sure though.
