I'm confused on how this is getting an international release but is not anywhere on the US radar. This song is a bonafide massive hit and its getting buried for the time being in the US. Makes me glad to be Canadian at the moment. This is a fantastic rock song and is sitting at number one on the Canadian Rock chart. It even made Rollling Stones list on top 100 songs of 2007 and still that gets it no attention.
Is it going to get a US release? Anyone know?

It's going to do like all their other releases and tank. It's sad, really.

"3's and 7's" missing the top 10 was inexcusable. It hung around for a while because it was a good song that probably received a lot of positive feedback but radio doesn't play music for free anymore. This song will do nothing. There's always one posthumous release (in terms of the album's life) for every album they've done.
"Monsters in the Parasol": hopeless. "First It Giveth": hopeless. "Burn The Witch": hopeless, although it wouldn't have been hopeless if it was released for Halloween '05 instead of Halloween '06, which would have been good timing for a third single. This song is futile as well.

Not sure when "First It Giveth" was released, but I own the single, so it was released sometime, somewhere. Maybe just internationally. I think there were topics on this board for about 6 different prospective third singles from that album.
Wikipedia lists "Burn The Witch" as a January 10, 2006 release, six months after the release of "In My Head" which only peaked at #30 or so. They could have naturally released "Burn The Witch" 3 months sooner, right in time for Halloween, and it would have been perfect timing in both a seasonal regard and an album progression regard as well, but they screwed it up.

Psst...I really hate to bust your balls on this, friend, but "Burn the Witch" debuted at #49 on R&R's Alternative chart on October 21, 2005. It spent 8 weeks on the chart, actually, peaking at #38.

I'm glad you did because I don't have any chart records from that time frame. Still, they released it just in time to have 200 total plays by the end of October. What good is that gonna do.
I thought that January release date may have been erroneous because the song was still on my chart at the beginning of the year and not many others did.

This song is amazing. Best song to release from the album. I know it was #1 in Canada when I last checked it...and that surprised me because it's doing nothing here.
I remember hearing Josh Homme saying something not too flattering about Interscope Records recently and I wonder whether that had anything to do with the promotion of this album.

Yeah, "First It Giveth" was just international. I think it had a video as well. "Millionaire" was going to be a third single but got scrapped. ("Parasol" being a single was news to me, though.)
This is one of the songs I like more on the disappointing record. At least they've got the good stuff as singles, though. I think "Misfit Love" is the only one left that I honestly enjoy.
