I would love to see Kelly do a country rock album. Something like what Llynard Skynard used to do and what Big and Rich do now. Duane Allman said during an interview on CMT that the recipe for rock is to "take 4 parts blues, add 2 parts country, and give it to a poor white boy, and you have rock." Kelly would kick butt doing that kind of music.

That would work too. I wouldn't mind hearing that either.

I don't want her doing a country album- I just want her to go back to pop/rock and I hope this next one is like that.

If Kelly wants any sort of real career she knows not to a country album as her next album. First, Kelly already has a real career, and has had since 2002. Second, it's already been reported that her next album will not be country. Descriptions of the direction of her next album are somewhere up on this thread, in case you're interested in checking out the info.

Q&A: Michael Johnsby Fred Bronson - May. 29, 2008 09:26 AM Billboard.com At 29, Michael Johns made it into the final rounds of "American Idol" at the last possible year he could, due to age constraints. The Aussie sat down with Billboard to discuss his label luck, tennis and being one of the few married finalists on "AI." <snip> Q: I understand you've watched American Idol' from the beginning. True? Which contestants had any impact on you, and why? A: Yes, I did watch from the first season. I was intrigued like the rest of the world. Kelly Clarkson was awesome and still is. I think she is the biggest reason why the show got as big as it did. She came out and legitimized the credibility of the show. "Idol" is the best platform these days for finding new talent. Q: Since you had already been signed to a major label, did you have any qualms about competing on "American Idol," or based on the success of artists like Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood did you feel this was a great way to launch a career? A: I was totally ready to audition for "Idol." The music biz has been in disarray for years and "Idol" has been the only steady ship for the last seven years. www.azcentral.com/ent/music/articles/2008/05/29/20080529johns.htmlSome more love from AI 7, where David gives his props to Kelly for standing up for her music at 1:45: www.davidcooktheamericanidol.com/

As long as its on his record and not Kelly's, i'd be fine with a duet. He seems like a great guy.

For a first duet with a male on a Kelly record I'd love it to be with someone huge, like Steven Tyler (my personal dream) or Rob Thomas, or Bono. Someone in that league.

A Steven/Kelly duet would be about the most I could hope for in life. My two favorite singers ever!

And a Kelly and Richie Havens duet, singing a folk/rock type song would be my second dream.

Those 2 I would definitely agree with, especially Rob Thomas. Not a fan of Steve Tyler, so for me personally would do nothing for me. I know Kelly adores him, but just not my thing. I agree that the David C/Kelly duet would be better on his album. Don't think it will happen though.

Personally, I think having a duet or a track with a "featuring another artist" on a regular CD is almost always a promotional ploy, and I prefer Kelly not involve herself with that. I like duets that come about from a live event or benefit and have a purpose for their existence.

^ But she's done You Thought Wrong with Tamyra on Thankful and I thought that was a really good song.

This is going to come off snobbish, but no duets with any AI alums on her upcoming record (not even Carrie Underwood). That being said, I would very much fancy a live 'surprise' duet with Carrie Underwood !

I think it is fun to throw out duet ideas. I really don't see Kelly doing any duets on albums, I just think it is fun to imagine her beautiful voice with other artists! Besides, it seems kind of quiet in here lately, why not spice it up alittle. :)

Saw Kelly this weekend at the Starbucks around the corner here in Nashville. She was trying to look all incognito but I knew it was her from the tattoo on her neck.

At least I think she was in L.A. recording with Ryan. Maybe I'm wrong about that.

It's rumored that she has bought a house in Nashville. She's been seen around town often from time to time. My partner has also said that she's been at California Pizza Kitchen to eat here several times.
She looked great, BTW. She was fit but not too thin for her frame like she was during parts of the Breakaway era. She had on big sunglasses and allowed one of her friends to order for them while she stood back. So it was obvious she didn't want too much attention.

Maybe she's not recording in Nashville but just there conducting business with Narvel?

That could be too. I'd heard she bought a place in Nashville too. Other people have also said she was in L.A. on May 23 when she journaled that she and Ryan had just finished a song that day. She could be in Nashville for business with Narvel or pleasure, or MAY BE TO RECORD. I'm interested in who else will be producing on her record. It's all getting exciting!

It's video and camera's that add a few pounds and then people that are used to pictures of stick thin celebrities say she looks fat. She's not at all.
