I figured it was time.
The last night of the 'My December Tour' happened in Helsinki last night - one year after it all started, and with no more singles from the project slated for release, the My December era is officially over. It spawned an album that split people's opinions, sold 2 million copies WW, a top ten US single, and a world tour.
That said, perhaps it's good to leave the controversy behind and look to the future. Currently 'The Fourth Album Era'. This a hugely important era for Kelly, and here's what we know about it...
- Slated for a 'fourth quarter release'
- She'll be working with different producers again...
- ...One of them being Ryan Tedder who has this to say "Clarkson's new songs will feature big choruses and heavy drum programming". He also revealed that the songs are "influenced by nineties electro-rockers Garbage, while one song, a mid-tempo rock ballad, features an experimental bridge inspired by Mozart."
- FOUR demos have leaked, that may or may not be on the new album. Close Your Eyes, With A Little Bit Of Luck, Ready and One Day leaked onto the internet a few weeks a go, to positive buzz and interest from fans and media outlets alike. Clarkson says "It Sucks" but she hopes the fans like them.
------------
Upcoming Events/Projects:
- SINGING FOR THE POPE IN NYC on APRIL 19TH
- SECOND LEG OF THE '2 WORLDS 2 VOICES TOUR' WITH REBA THIS FALL.

Hooray for moving on!
The demos don't seem to fit Ryan Tedder's description. Then again, I guess they are just demos, and maybe when they're fully produced they'll sound different.

As Kelly said, she's writing and recording demos all the time and sometimes they're never meant to be released on albums. That could be the case with these or maybe not.
It's definitely going to be interesting to see what she comes up with.

I doubt any of these will make the cut. More production or not, I just don't see them fitting with the direction of the new project. That's not to say they aren't great, which is why I'm glad they leaked in the end, cause I'm not sure we would have ever heard them if not. x

I guess Helsinki, Finland would be the last concert of the My December era. I can't get over how fantastic her voice still sounds after this tour. Here's a great rendition of Addicted from Helsinki last night... www.youtube.com/watch?v=COjf3ewGUckThanks for the link, Focus ! This song is a great example of the live version of 'Addicted' clearly outclassing the recorded version. She has an uncanny way of making the verses sound almost sinister-like then wails the chorus in big rock-voice fashion, while weaving a bitter tone in the bridge. Honestly, her live interpretation of 'Addicted' to me one of the most brilliant parts of her live shows, and furthermore, I hope she continues singing it on her subsequent tours (as well I wish she sung 'Hear Me' more :'( ). Any word of whether Kelly will be appearing at tonight's CMT Awards show ? I just presumed she would not be there since she had a show in Finland night.

Her voice is certainly in a great place right now. At the start of the MD era I wasn't sure her voice was going to survive the following year, but she's weathered the storm brilliantly. And now she can spend the next six months really resting it and not singing every night etc. I have more confidence in her voice now than I have had for the last two years.

Sorry of this is a repost: 'American Idol': The 15 Best Performances Ever 2. KELLY CLARKSON, ''Stuff Like That There'' (Season 1)Some folks rail against the theme nights, which often force Idol contestants into new and unfamiliar musical genres, but they forget that big-band night helped make a star of the very first American Idol. Decked out in her black-and-white polka-dot dress and pearls, Kelly broke out a monster range that proved more than equal to the brassy, sassy ''Stuff Like That There,'' making the dusty gem sound fresh and modern. And indeed, her ability to raise even the sleepiest numbers (''A Moment Like This,'' ''Miss Independent'') to pop relevance helped Kelly make the early transition from TV-show novelty act to formidable ''Since U Been Gone'' chart-topper. www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20007164_20171835_20189900_14,00.html

^Always loved that performance.
Does anyone have the link to that video on youtube of "Hear Me" where it's a live version but it's dubbed with the studio version to show how well she actually sings that song? If anyone has it, thanks.

Can't wait for this! I really hope she reaches a mid way ground between doing what she wants to do, and what is commercially successful! I really hope all goes well! ![:d](http://images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif)

Any word of whether Kelly will be appearing at tonight's CMT Awards show ? I just presumed she would not be there since she had a show in Finland night. It would be kind of strange for her not to be there considering KellyClarkson.com kept sending emails about winning tickets to the CMT awards.

SLTT was amazing, and nobody has ever performed out of their usual zone as well as Kelly did that night. It was like walking into the 1940s. I wonder how many Pts this thread will be at by the time this album arrives, lol.

Really looking forward to the new era! Can't wait to go home and hear the leaks! I'm glad she's sticking with the slightly pop-rockish strategy and staying true to her roots. I would have been disappointed if she worked with someone like Timbaland ![:-X](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/lipssealed.png)

I'm excited by the Ryan Tedder collaboration, but unsure how it's going to turnout. I can't see her singing anything like Bleeding Love or the stuff Tedder has done with Natasha or Jesse. I can see her doing One Republic-like stuff, but aside from Apologize I think that album is pretty bland.
As long as she writes and he produces though, and tweaks things here and there, I think it will be hot.

I think this album can turn out to be AMAZING or it can turn out to be a HUGE flop. It depends on how they do it. It souns like its going to be amazing, but sometimes u have to listen to the product before judging it. Lets hope they dont mess this up. and kelly can regain her throne(about time)

Good thing Kelly didn't go to the CMT Awards (not that she was planning on it, lol) but Reba/Kelly's 'Because of You' did not make the top final 4 nominees for Video of the Year (which was won by Taylor Swift 'Our Song') and also lost out on Country Collaboration (which went to LeAnne Rimes and Jon Bon Jovi).
On a much more exciting note:

Yeah, too bad they didn't win. Oh well. Here's a professional video from the 2 Worlds 2 Voices tour with Reba. It's the segment they did with Barbara Jean. I hope this indicates that perhaps a tour DVD is coming too. www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2_oh_mLenU

My #1 favorite is her first performance (she did two that season) of Without You. That was judges' pick night. IMHO, that was the best performance on Idol ever, bar none. It's rare for an artist who's covering a former big hit to do it better than the original. Kelly did Without You better than the original, IMHO.
