The way Carrie is performing IKYW live in her concerts might have a better chance of becoming a crossover hit. The piano intro with her voice is mindblowing. The song builds up to the chorus and the song doesn't repeat as much as the cd version. This song at about 3:40 in length could be a good radio single. Personally, and I know alot of people don't agree, I lean towards TMBIM as a pretty good song for the 5th single. jmo

IKYW is the BOMB!! This is my favorite song from CR and I hope that her 3rd album has more songs with this type of vocal ability & strength. She shows so much growth with this song. She really took it to the next level. I really don't see it being a single, though. JMO
See & for me she never does it as good as the original. The original is perfect, untouchable. I haven't found a live version that I like, so I can't see her doing promotion for it either

I love the Grand Ole Opry version. That, IMO, is the best

I agree-- 2 of Carrie' s best vocals ever were at the Opry-- IKYW and HGTA. Both were superb.
I cannot wait until tomorrow-- the official adds date for JAD! So maybe we can expect some sort of promo, or the video, this week! :) I still say Carrie will do some talk shows to promote JAD as it is too good to not promote it a little. She has this whole week off after the Delaware show on monday, right? So a few talk shows might be possible.

i'm not sure where you got the "lukewarm response" thing, but even then, during snl, all signs have pointed to LN being the next single, regardless of the response. imo, fotf was performed bec its an snl kind of song. plus maybe carrie wanted to showcase her ohter songs which are not or are chosen as singles yet.
i do think fotf will make a good single. its the kind of song country radio seems to lap up. plus it's a kick-a$$ song for carrie but very diffrent from bhc and ln, and it'll probably show another side of her.
but i'm also curious for ikyw to be released as a single. i agree with someone who said before that if carrie's label forget about the #1 streaks, ikyw will do great on radio. plus carrie will have a helluva time performing it live bec it's the best song that shows off her vocal prowess. it's not the best written song but its good enough and with a singer like carrie the song can do really good. look at sugarland's "stay". it didnt hit #1 but look at all the accolades and awards it got. it was like a ground-breaking song in this age and time. ikyw may break carrie's #1 streak but i think it's better for her in the long term if she releases this song which shows her vocal prowess. and i also believe the live version is better. i like the piano build-up to full instrumentation bec it best gives off the power of the song, compared to the album version.
but if i have my way, i'd have ywft released. it's my fave off of CR. and it's about time carrie release a love song. haha!
carrie has always stated that she and her team are prepared about the "downside" of carnival ride. that it will sell much less than some hearts. for me, some hearts is an aberration, and not the standard. if im not mistaken, brad's latest album has sold less than cr, yet no one is questioning his status as a country music superstar. carrie has prove she can sell. now she's trying to prove in other ways that she's here to stay, and she's here for good, in country music.

Speaking of the Opry, I assume Carrie is going to debut JAD on TV when she's on since it's the current single? Ahh, can't wait for a TV cap of her live performance of that song! I kinda wish she'd experiment a little more with its arrangement live like she's done with some of her other songs.

Though- I hope she does promo for it before then on tv talk shows too, etc. The video has to be coming out soon- cannot wait!

^^^ Is the picture photoshopped or did she really wear that ? The outfit looks like an 80s-dominatrix-Alice In Wonderland hybrid, LMAO !
Honestly though, 99.999999% of the time, the girl does look "fierce", thus she is allowed to have a fashion off-day here and there. This just reminds me that, as stunning and gorgeous that she is, she is human after all. :)

I know many people were upset with the CMT review of Country Thunder, so I hope this makes all us sad confused folk feel better: www.us99.com/Carrie is winning the poll easily for favorite blonde at Country Thunder!

That outfit looks wierd in that pose. I think she might look better if they hadn't taken the pic at that moment. I remember my wedding pictures when I wore my badass tuxedo. I looked like a million bucks. But, one of the pics taken right at the exact time I was saying something to my best man, made me look like Groucho Marx. It happens. Carrie on a bad fashion day still looks better that some women on their best day.

^ I think the outfit is kind of funky/cute- but the picture was taken at a bad angle so it made her look strange. I bet we will see other pictures of her in that outfit that are much more flattering. She is moving around alot on stage so sometimes the camera catches her at an odd angle. I will try to find a better picture of her in the dress so we can compare. My only concern with the outfit- is that it looks like a pop concert outfit rather then country-- or something rianna or Xtina would wear at a concert- which is fine, but it's not really "country." lol But look at how Shania dressed in concert- she was more pop/funky too...then cowboy boots and jeans. So I guess anything goes these days. lol The days of flannel shirts and gingham dresses are over for country music. lol
But I love that Carrie does her own thing-- at least she doesn't' wear daisy dukes shorts and cowboy boots like jessica does all the time- that seems so clique to me, like a uniform really.
Doesn't the outfit remind you all of the dress/leggins outfit she wore on Idol to perform Wasted? lol
^ Jeff--- what do you mean about a surprise tonight?? I am intrigued. :)
I also love YWFT so much--I play it alot-and wish she would perform it live....and that it could be a single too...But since she doesn't include it in her set- I think the chances of it being a single are slim to none unfortunately.
Jeff- I also love I Told You so, and that surprises me- since I don't normally go for too many traditional country songs..(exception- anything by patsy cline or johnny cash, etc).lol But I love her version of ITYS. Actually- I love every traditional country song Carrie has ever performed so far....so that makes me wonder if I would actually like traditional country music more if Carrie performed it since her voice is so beautiful it makes the songs more tolerable for me? lol
