www.youtube.com/watch?v=qA1gAi7_o9cI'm taking a shot with this song mostly because i want to see what people think of it, for those that havent heard it you can check the video behind the cut. It was the second released (Canadian) single from their latest album and cuts away from the usual power pop/punk of their other songs. This song is heavier and melodic. To be honest its catching on with me to be one of my favorite current songs. I'm hoping they eventually get an adds date for the US for at least active to see what kind of success it might have. Throw away your preconception of the band (if you have one) and check this song. You may be surprised.

To me, this is less like Sum 41 and more like Rise Against. Oh, and it's awesome.

How well did I Hear You Calling do? I'm not sure on that one, I dont have any historical numbers. That does however lead me to the question does anyone have a site you can go to that shows peaks for either mediabase, billboard or R@R??? I have a two billboard books, but the rock one only goes to 1995 and the Hot 100 book only goes to 2000.

It sucks that these guys never have really made an impact in the States, but I'm glad at least they're quite big in Canada. I'm hoping this will do something to get them into the music scene here.

How well did I Hear You Calling do? Didn't do anything here. I didn't care too much for that record, and "Yeah, I Cut Myself Too" (or something like that) was kind of silly as well. Back in the old days of this board at R and R, I mean, really old days when the forum was controlled by elitist f***s, one of the bands they all raved about was Gob. I don't understand that one at all. Might be the biggest anomaly in the history of this community.

Before this song, the only other song I ever really like was Oh Ellin and that's because it was on one of my NHL computer games(NHL '05 I think) and after repeatedly hearing it I really start to like it.

Forgot about that one. It's another one I didn't like, and I seriously thought for a while that he was saying "Oh! Alan!".

"Give Up The Grudge" might have been better if they didn't try so hard.

I don't think I'll ever forget "I Hear You Calling" in my life even though it never got any love here on the radio. I think it was the intro song in NHL 2001 or something and from the amount of times I played that, just well damn. Still, I think it was definitely their best song out of the few that I've heard.

It did okay in Canada, I think. Plus it received heavy rotation on MTV2's all-request video block.

"Give Up The Grudge" might have been better if they didn't try so hard. You guys keep coming up with these songs I keep forgetting about! Another one I didn't like. HOWEVER...there's a song I've been hearing on the radio that never gets ID'd which I'd been curious about, and I finally discovered it to be: "The Banshee Song" by Gob. That's a good fucking song; leaps & bounds better than anything else I've heard from them. Consider as much of my foot that will fit in my mouth, in my mouth.

Well I thought he was setting it up for the punchline, but now I don't know.

Yeah I got it. Obviously one song isn't enough for a person to acquire that disease, so I'm safe.
(seriously, I got it. don't worry.)

For the record, Banshee Song, is the third single in Canada.

I think "Give Up the Grudge" and "Oh! Ellin" are their only two songs I've ever heard. And like crash, I didn't like either one.
