This is the first single off Opeth's forthcoming album Watershed due out June 3rd. The album version of the song, as is the case with most Opeth songs is 8 minutes longs, but the single version has been cut down to 4:59. You can watch the music video here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=htvh5adBVLY I know they don't get much radio play, and this may be more of a promotion of one of my favorite bands, so I don't know if it's appropriate of me to make a thread for this song, even though it is their official single off the album, and if Ghost Reveries is any indication, they can sell just as many records as many of the bands on here. This song has no screaming, so it's certainly melodic enough for radio, but it's far from accessible. We'll see what happens.

^^ Thanks for the link!
The imagination of hearing one of their songs sandwiched in between the latest efforts from the likes of Puddle Of Mudd, Daughtry or Kid Rock ist just ridiculous. If even metal bands who sound remotely commercial/mainstream (In Flames) can't get any sort of success on rock radio then why should a band like Opeth, who have been known for pushing boundaries within the european death metal scene for their whole career. If they're lucky enough they might get 5 adds, with the stations in question spinning the song at 4am two times a week, or so.

Their new album "Watershed" debuted this week at #23, a ridiculously high debut for a swedish prog-metal band, and an impressive feat in a week competing with debuts from Disturbed (their 3rd #1), Now vol. 28, Weezer, Journey, Ashanti, and Gavin Rossdale.
