I posed this question to Fred @ billboard for his chart beat column, have not seen it yet.
Should Bleeding Love make it #1 before it drops off #1 at chr/top 40, when would be the last time the same #1 occupied AC, Hot AC & top 40 at the same time?

^Excellent question. I cannot think of one song in the 2000s for which this happened. Off the top of my head, I would say Celine Dion's "Because You Loved Me" in May 1996.

My guess would've been "I Knew I Loved You" but maybe it didn't hit #1 on Hot AC.

"I Knew I Loved You" peaked at Number 3 on Billboard Adult Top 40 (similar to R&R Hot AC). It also peaked at Number 1 on Billboard Top 40 Adult Recurrents.

^Wonderin if My Heart Will Go On hit #1 on HAC and AC while it was #1 CHR...there were a lot of Modern Hot ACs around back then so maybe it didn't hit #1 HAC
Also wonderin about Smooth, but I guess it prob. didn't hit #1 AC while it was #1 CHR

I know Love Song topped all 3 charts, but not at the same time.

In terms of the Billboard charts, there wasn't a song that was #1 on AC, Hot AC, and pop all at the same time since 1996. There were 2 songs that came very close in 2006 - "You're Beautiful by James Blunt, and "Bad Day" by Daniel Powter. Both songs were #1 at AC, Hot AC, and the Hot 100 - but not simultaneously. There was a week or 2 apart if I recall. It's interesting to note that both "You're Beautiful" and "Bad Day" were AC-originated hits that crossed over to CHR and did very well. Just about all other songs that eventually reach #1 on AC are CHR-crossovers.

Smooth didn't even make the top 10 on AC. Wow that's ridiculous lol...Smooth must be one of the must replayed songs of the decade on today's ACs Kinda wonderin what mainstream ACs were playin in 1999-2000...besides Celine Dion's That's The Way It Is and maybe ballads by the Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync
