If for every station, each song was assigned a number equal to its rank on that station's playlist for the week, the average value would be higher for stations that play more songs with less spins each. I used
www.yes.com as my source. I calculated the value for New York City's WLTW (AC) and WHTZ (CHR-Pop) for every song those stations played yesterday (since today is not over yet) and the results were:
WLTW: 140.16 (297 spins during the day)
WHTZ: 33.65 (280 spins during the day)
WHTZ played the following 23 songs that are not its Top 100 yesterday:
Jennifer Lopez featuring Ja Rule: "I'm Real (Murder Remix)"
Chris Brown: "Run It!"
Nina Sky featuring Jabba: "Move Ya Body"
Linkin Park: "In The End"
Frankie J.: "More Than Words"
Nelly Furtado: "Say It Right"
Simple Plan: "Perfect"
The Fray: "How To Save A Life"
50 Cent: "Just A Lil Bit"
No Doubt: "Don't Speak"
Shai: "If I Ever Fall In Love" (Original A Cappella)
Red Hot Chili Peppers: "Under The Bridge"
Creed: "One Last Breath"
All-American Rejects: "It Ends Tonight"
Kelly Clarkson: "Since U Been Gone"
Sean Paul featuring Keyshia Cole: "(When You Gonna) Give It Up To Me"
Lil' Jon and the Eastside Boyz featuring E-40 and Sean Paul of Youngbloodz: "Snap Your Fingers"
Twista featuring Kanye West and Jamie Foxx: "Slow Jamz"
Fat Joe featuring Lil' Wayne: "Make It Rain"
Rihanna: "Don't Stop The Music"
Usher: "Caught Up"
Jay-Z featuring Ja Rule and Amil: "Can I Get A..."
Ludacris featuring Mystikal and I-20: "Move B***h"
Maybe later I'll calculate it for stations that are other formats.
