This week’s Pop2Kountdown, from September 15th, 2001.
…yes, seriously. and like the BITDR it’s a repeat from 2019. I guess it’s because they wanted to avoid playing that “God Bless the USA” song that debuted the week of the 29th, but I don’t know why they didn’t just go with the 22nd if that was the case… idk.
30 (10) Enya - Only Time (Remix) 29 (24) Ludacris f/ Nate Dogg - Area Codes 28 (08) City High - What Would You Do? 27 (27) Toby Keith - I’m Just Talkin’ About Tonight
26 (19) The Isley Brothers f/ Ronald Isley aka Mr. Biggs - Contagious* 25 (25) Smash Mouth - I’m a Believer 24 (22) Dave Matthews Band - The Space Between 23 (17) Trick Daddy - I’m a Thug 22 (04) Ginuwine - Differences 21 (18) Blake Shelton - Austin 20 (09) Incubus - Drive 19 (03) O-Town - All or Nothing 18 (13) Sugar Ray - When It’s Over 17 (15) Craig David - Fill Me In 16 (15) Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliott f/ Ludacris - One Minute Man 15 (13) Afroman - Because I Got High 14 (04) 112 - Peaches & Cream 13 (08) Jay-Z - Izzo (H.O.V.A.) 12 (01) Mary J. Blige - Family Affair 11 (10) Michael Jackson - You Rock My World 10 (02) Lifehouse - Hanging By A Moment 09 (05) Train - Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me) 08 (05) Staind - It’s Been Awhile 07 (02) Eve f/ Gwen Stefani - Let Me Blow Ya Mind 06 (01) Usher - U Remind Me 05 (02) Blu Cantrell - Hit ‘Em Up Style (Oops!) 04 (03) Janet - Someone to Call My Lover 03 (03) Jagged Edge f/ Nelly - Where the Party At 02 (01) Alicia Keys - Fallin’ 01 (01) Jennifer Lopez f/ Ja Rule - I’m Real (Murder Remix)

I noticed that, and they seemed customized for the specific week in question, many of them featuring snippets of songs in that week's show. It seems like it would be a big deal to create new bumpers each week, but we'll see.

90s this week is 1991 00s this week is 2004 Great picks for both shows! where do they announce what years will be featured on nineties and Pop2k and the 70s. I think the 60s and 80s are the only stats that announces the next week's shows.

I saw the 90s & 00s on their website, they're usually put up a day in advance (if at all). Rich Davis also usually mentions the Pop2Kountdown near the end of his Friday slot. I don't know about the 70s, you'd have to ask lasvegaskid .

*1981 studio version played instead of the live single version, a common error in these countdowns I've always assumed that 80s on 8 plays the studio version because that's what most radio stations played in the 1980s. You only ever heard the live version on countdown shows, so casual listeners don't know it.

90s this week is 1998 (yet ANOTHER repeat from 2019!) I'm only now realizing that the run of years from the beginning of August until now are identical to the corresponding weeks from 2019, with one exception. The only reason I hadn't noticed before is that two of those weeks featured different charts in 2019 and 2021. How long can the madness last?

Saw the 1996 list and it's pretty solid with the exception of 2 songs.
