Dear Casey,
Since 1970 radio listeners have heard you mention the name Don Bustany every week at the end of your show, and this weekend Don celebrates a birthday. And since it might sound odd for you to send out a dedication to one of your life-long friends, we'd like to do it for you. For those who don't know, Don was the original writer, producer, and co-creator of American Top 40. When many others doubted its success, it was Don who fought to keep AT40 going. His belief in the show paid off with a program that's been on-the-air for 38 years with no end in sight. You and Don met in Detroit at Wayne St. University & then moved to California where you created a small production company. In fact, you've told the story of building a recording studio in your Hollywood apartment. When a client arrived, Don would direct them to the Casem-Bustany Studio: a microphone hanging in a coat closet <chuckles>. Casey, on the occasion of Don's birthday we'd like you to join us in dedicating the song "Faith" to the man whose vision, tenacity, and hard work got this program up and running & kept it alive. Thank you Don, and super wishes for the best birthday ever.
Matt Wilson and Rob Durkee
<and I second that. Keep reaching for the stars Don. Thanks for keeping the faith.>
