Dear Casey,
I would like you to know about someone that I have rediscovered after 33 years. As teenagers, Lisa and I attended the school. She was 3 years younger than me, and I was quite taken with her. She had the darkest hair & eyes, and her smile lit up a room. She was even Homecoming Queen. It was a very typical high school crush that I had: all the young giggles, book-carrying, and locker-notes, but for some reason (prior to my graduation during the summer), we didn't see each other. No harsh words, disrespect or distrust: just an inaction, I would forever regret. That was in 1975. I later married & joined the Army where I worked for the next 30 years. Well by chance one night, I was reading my High School Alumni Newsletter and noticed Lisa's name & email. I was hesitant at first to email her, but I did. Within days, there was a response. Her reply was as sweet and gentile as I remember her to be. The humor, kindness, and care in her email was a though she had never changed. She sent a picture of her & her family, and Life's been kind. She's as beautiful as the last time I saw her in 1975. We've emailed many times since. Lisa is facing some problems, but since she's still married, I don't want to influence her life in any way. But Casey, I would like to make a dedication. Could you please play "I'll Be There"? There isn't a day that I don't think of her & what might have been. Thank you.
Perry
