I decided that it might be easier for this show to have its own thread, rather than post it in the AT40 Flashback topic (since this show really has nothing to do with AC radio. ;) )
Anyway, next week, they'll be going back to 1984, which pleases many people who post on the Sirius Message Boards.
By the way, does anyone here have a list of the years Nina Blackwood has done since the start of the show?

Good idea Ulij!
:)
I'm glad that this has it's own discussion post now..
I can't wait to hear 1984 next week.. I loved that Summer.. It was the Summer between 2nd and 3rd grade, and I had first started listening to CHR/Pop Radio (back when it was called "Top 40" or "Hit Radio"..

Yeah, 1984 was a pretty good year in music. It wasn't my best year personally, however, since that was the year I turned twelve - you know, entering puberty and all that...
Looks to me like Cashbox had the same rule that a song not available as a single wasn't allowed to chart, as Jermaine Jackson's hit "Tell Me I'm Not Dreamin' (Too Good To Be True)" is nowhere to be seen on any 1984 charts. The song did hit the Top Ten on the R&R charts, though, peaking at number six. I imagine it would have peaked even higher had it been released as a single, since some stations also had a rule against charting a song that wasn't a single, regardless of how often it was played.

Well.. . I didn't get to hear all of this week's Big 40 because the Internet Recorder and the Sirius Player had some problems communicating.. :'(
BUT, I did listen to the show for a little bit Saturday prior to getting ready for work.. I got to hear the Top 10 and judging by that it looks like they used Cashbox's May 19 th Chart with Lionel Richie's "Hello" at the Top Spot.. Nina even made a cheesy joke as the song was ending, by saying "Lionel May be saying Hello, But I'm saying Goodbye".. This week's Top 10 remained intact but I don't know about the rest of the chart..
