This song is really catchy, I like it, much better than "Boyfriend."

I like the original version a lot, definitely more than Boyfriend. But the remix is horrible, and I don't wanna hear that one.

Thanks for the Carole King reference. ;) Maybe someone said this in a previous post, but I'm too lazy to go look it up. Is it me, or does the chorus kind of sund like "This Love" by Marroon 5?

Not that it means much, but this song is now gaining spins faster than Kelly's "Walk Away"... I'm not sure if that means this song is pretty strong, Kelly's song is weak, or perhaps a combination of both...

I think L.O.V.E. is a quick novelty...quick rise, quick fall (like Shadow)..
WA will have longevity.

Kelly still has a song really high, its a 5th single, and still hasnt received its formal push. Ashlee's is a second single and has received its real push. The two situations seem mostly incomparable.

Kelly's still riding on the airplay of BOY, which has to subside before the airplay of WA starts to kick into full gear.
Ashlee's "Boyfriend", on the other hand, was far more successful in downloads than it was in airplay, and she doesn't have to compete with herself in that regard.
So the comparisons are sort of unreasonable.

Kelly didn't gain any spins at KIIS yesterday with WA (still at 38 for the past week), so maybe I'm onto something...

Yeah-I am still failing to see the comparison **eyebrow** And even if it is gaining more it has NOTHING to do with quality. If you think songs do well because of quality...well, thats so naive it almost hurts

Actually, not to be picky, but it's going for adds on the 17th. The accurate info is that BOY was only #65 with a bullet of 123 TWO weeks before its adds date. On its Adds day, BOY's position was #44 with a 224 bullet. And that was even better than BTHE's adds day numbers... "Walk Away" is currently #45 with a bullet of 268 with an adds date more than 3 weeks away. So it's actually doing better than any of Kelly's previous singles, and they didn't have to contend with Christmas music.
Kelly still has a song in the top 3, and has done NO promotion for this song yet. Ashlee has performed "LOVE" on TV a couple times so a few radio stations started picking it up. "Walk Away" is ahead of LOVE on the Taking Off Chart, the audience impressions are higher and it's featured on allaccess.com's Cool Music page. Plus, a lot of Christmas music is being played, with few new songs, so I'm not worried at all. It's just getting started.
I'll just add that I heard L.O.V.E. on the radio tonight and while I sang along at first I was ready to beat my head and change the station about halfway through. The repetition is ridiculous. This song won't last, sorry. We'll see if it does better than "Boyfriend".

If you think songs do well because of quality...well, thats so naive it almost hurts In a perfect world... (i.e.:CHR/Pop circa 1983 and again 1997/1998) the cream does rise to the top... right now though Garbage (no not the music group) does tend to rise to the top... along with mediocre stuff like Kelly's WA single... As I mentioned somewhere either in this thread of the WA thread.... Kelly will get to top 10 strictly on reputation alone... the song simply isn't that great (and this is coming from a Kelly fan)....

mediocre stuff like Kelly's WA single... Pretty ironic coming from an Ashlee fan, don't you think?

I also wonder why everyone is talking about Kelly Clarkson. There is no reason to. We all know Ashlee won't be as succesful as Kelly but some fans including me hopes this song will do quite well.

If you read a few posts up someone did a comparison of the two current singles, hence why Kelly is being mentioned in this topic :)

I'm a Kelly fan, not an Ashlee fan, but I do like this song, it may be her 2nd best behind "Pieces of Me." I'm actually really lost into how Kelly Clarkson got into this topic in the first place, I'm assuming someone said something about "L.O.V.E.'s" bullet being higher than "Walk Away's." Ashlee's singles generally take off quickly after they finally get pushed because believe it or not she does have hype behind her, radio dj's and the audience are wanting to hear what she comes out with next so they can find another way to make fun of her (which I think is really crude, considering they don't seem to be making an ounce of fun of "Laffy Taffy" - at least not where I live). I'd think after 5 singles chart followers would've figured this out by now, even though most of her singles could be considered a flop, she still tends to have a strong take off.

Ashlee's problem is that she can never translate the fast take off hype into a long standing hit. Will Love do it? Possibly, but I can also clearly see it burning out before #20 again. I love LOVE, but I think she needs an undeniable hit that everyone loves.

I love LOVE, but I think she needs an undeniable hit that everyone loves. I agree, unfortunately there is a stigma attached to her that she automatically sucks, so there goes half of the audience. She needs to make a very strong mature single that can take people off guard and make them realize that she can sing. I like "L.O.V.E." and I hope it does well, but I think it will have another run just like "Boyfriend" and "Lala" had. I haven't heard her new album, but does anyone think there is a song that could finally get her another big hit?

I don't know about radio though. Ashlee just won't get played on radio even though there are a lot of songs that should be Top 10 hits on her album
