Have any of you had any experience with callout surveys about your radio stations? Not necessarily ratethemusic and stuff like that, but that could count too. I've b**ched often about how i've never been called, but today it finally happened!! They basically play you 10 seconds of a song over the phone w/o telling you the title or artist. I told them my fave station was Y100, and while i'm not going to bore you with every single frickin song tested, there was some random s**t I had to mention:
- They played me "Move Your Body" by Nina Sky and "She Will Be Loved" by Maroon 5. Seriously. What year are they in?? - Y100.7 seems to be getting a bit more open to dance. I got tested with the Jason Nevins remix of "Because of You' (no worries, they also played "Walk Away", told them it was a favorite so they can ramp up the spins!! also told them I was tired of BOY), "Everytime we Touch", the dance version of "Listen to Your Heart" and the really random selection, ATC's "Around The World". The 'la la la la' song from 2000. - I don't know whether these songs are actually going for adds on pop or if they're just going to play them here - they tested Paul Wall's "Girl" (recognized it from reading about it but had never heard the song) and Keyshia Cole's "Love". There was also a reggaeton song with some high voiced dude singing in spanish and something that sounded like Celia Cruz, neither of which I was familiar with. - "You're Beautiful" was on the list, which they haven't started playing yet. I hope it gets good scores.
Anybody got any experiences to share? Wierd songs they played you, unusual callers, anything.

They didn't, although they have played "Hung Up" regularly and i've heard "Sorry" in regular rotation.

Most stations test a few recurrents along with currents, so that may explain "She Will Be Loved". It also breaks up the songs that may be unfamiliar to you. They get better results interspersing some familar songs so they don't overwhelm you with new music. That's similar to how you'll hear them on the radio station anyway.

yes Y100 seems to been more open to dance! The last 2 days i have hear Sonique "It Feels So Good" like 2 times. Since January or so Y100 dropped the ballad version of "Because of You" and only plays the dance version like crazy by the way. They also play "Hung Up" and "Sorry" and ofcourse "Everytime We Touch". The station is becoming way friendly to dance which is a good thing!

The station is becoming way friendly to dance which is a good thing! But it may not be good for WHYI's rating which have gone down into the 2s.

well i doubt dance brought them down. In general all stations in miami suck. Why would they be adding more dance to the stations if they knew that brough their ratings down i doubt it. Plus many peeps call to request Cascada/Madonna shows that peeps wanna hear dance music

I agree that a lot of Miami stations suck. Power 96 (rhythmic station) is probably the worst station I've heard in my whole life.

Is age 30 a turning point to where CHR/Pop no longer want your input?
I usually receive one phone survey each month and got one last week. However, I recently turned 30 and one of the questions they ask is your age. After they entered all my preliminary info, including the two main stations I listen to, they said they didn't have a survey that would apply to me. I've done these for about a year and NEVER had them change their mind. Since the only difference was my age, is that the cutoff age for CHR/POP stations? They're only interested in teenagers and twenty-somethings?

I think CHR/pop aims from 12-29. Some stations go up to 35, but that age group is the main target.
Power 96 used to be great, like in the '90s. but now they blow chunks.
