Regarding this week's theme, I notice that in two cases (Something To Talk About and Staying Alive), the song existed long before the movie did. It seemed to me that two of the "non-spotlight" extras (The Rose and La Bamba) were actually more fitting for the theme than those two.
Also, did anyone catch the part where Casey mentioned that they were beginning preparations for their holiday shows and encouraged people to send in their holiday-themed stories and dedications? He said all the info was available at the show's website, but the web address he gave does not exist (I checked).

BTW, I missed an "extra" somewhere in the countdown. I'm almost sure that it's an AT10 Archive song, but it may have been an Extra, too. Looks like the song was somewhere between the #3 and #4 song, so if anyone else taking notes could fill in the blank, that would be greatly appreciated.
It was an archived song: "You're So Vain."
Other factoids:
∙ Josh Groban was #1 2 years ago this week with "To Where You Are."
∙ Seal's first American chart appearance was on the pop chart in 1991 with "Crazy."
∙ Los Lonely Boys took their name from a song their dad wrote.
∙ "White Flag" is the oldest song in the Top 10 at 42 weeks.
∙ Martina is working on a new CD due out next year.
∙ John Ondrasic got to spend some time with the Stanley Cup.
#1 Pop - Pieces of Me #1 Alternative - Breaking the Habit #1 Country - Live Like You Were Dying #1 Album - Now! That's What I Call Music, Vol. 16.
One more note of interest: both the song "Restless Heart" and the band Restless Heart were played this weekend.

And, even more interestingly, the two songs were from the same year.

Ok, now I'm really jealous. Do you know the story??? (actually, I do have my picture with the Cup. And I was even shown on an ESPN broadcast. I had my 1.7 seconds of fame. What a thrill)
I wonder what his hockey connection is?

I wonder what his hockey connection is? Well, I can't answer that, but you know that "Five for Fighting" (the band with which Ondrasik sings) is a reference to the 5-minute fighting penalty in hockey, right? OK, you probably knew that.

Labor Day was kind to Maroon5. They now have the largest audience, so hopefully they might just be #1 soon.

Chariots Of Fire/Vangelis Grease/Frankie Valli Looks like there were a couple of good songs in there that hadn't been played in awhile. I don't think I've heard "Grease" on the radio in years!

Casey has played "Grease" on the "archive" feature a few times in the past few years. And, now that I think about it, I seem to recall hearing "Chariots Of Fire" a few times as well.
And I agree with Michael1973 - "The Rose" and "La Bamba" should have been part of the Spotlight instead of "extras" or "archives". "Stayin' Alive" and "Something To Talk About" would have been great "archives" songs, especially since the latter was a huge AC hit around this time back in 1991.
