He's just one of those freaks who are waiting for the song to stall. He said that at the early phases of the song's performances, and now it's top 10, so he must be s**tting bricks now. Well, since you are someone with 55 posts (and over half of them in one thread), I'll just leave this alone and laugh about it. Because that post is just that - comical. I've been following radio ever since 2001, genius. I don't have to be a member of this forum to know about radio and how it works. And there is something called lurking, look it up at the dictionary. And glad you brought it up - currently this is the only song I like on radio. Hence I care about how it does. I don't waste my time in threads of songs I don't like. Now that's pathetic.

Random, but can anybody refresh me on Fighter & CHUD's spin peaks? I know Fighter was #6 & CHUD was #3. You mean their total spins? That's hard... I think Fighter peaked @ #5, not so sure though. CHUD peaked @ #3, true...

I've been following radioever since 2001, genius. Oh good. And thanks for the compliment, by the way. :) No, you don't. But, the way you're acting, we won't be seeing you much longer on these boards. :) So, let's recap: (1) Has been following radio for about 5 years. (2) Is obsessed with ANOM and this thread (3) Completely rude and bashes other people who disagree with him/her. Sounds like a great personal ad! :)

The pot calling the kettle black. You must of related to this past since you are one those freaks obsessing over a song that apparently "sucks". Good to know.

Go look it up in the dictionary. And I'd rather be "obsessed" over a song I support, no? I'd take that over being obsessed with a song I find sucky and holding my breath till it stalls. Sounds familiar? If you read properly, I "bash" freaks like you who won't get over this thread. Go over this thread and see how many people hate the song. Do I care about them all? NO. I only respond to people who I find unnecessary in this thread, by logical standards. Apparently you're one of them. So get your facts straight before you set up an ad, because you're wrong, AGAIN.

However, I just don't dig the whole early-mid 1900s look for her. She's trying to be Marilyn Monroe or something and she just plain isn't. She's naturally attractive and shouldn't go through all of this.

I think what annoys some fans are the people who seem to be waiting for the slightest slow down and then come in here yelling flop... It doesnt just happen with Christina...and of course, those people have every right to do so. But I still find it funny when a song where people are yelling flop keeps on going (A few of Kelly's songs did that haha) Also, the generalizations get annoying. "No one finds her hot" Yes they do-millions of people. Maybe not you, maybe not your friends, but millions of people find her beautiful. Thats a fact. "No one likes this song" Yes they do. Lots of people do. Maybe not the entire world, maybe not as much as other songs, but lots do. "She has no star power" Yes she does. You dont sell that many millions, have that many hits, and win that many grammys with NO star power at all. I hate certain other artists yet can still admit they have some star power. Not necessarily people in this thread, but I see those "bashes" a lot from haters.
As for the whole Marilyn thing-I dont think she is trying to be Marilyn exactly. What a lot of people dont know is that the way she is dressing was common fashionwise. She is trying to recreate that era. I think she looks gorgeous, but I am a little tired of it. I wish she would give her fashion a modern twist just like she has done her music and I hope she changes a bit as promotion continues.

They are just simply stating their dislike of the song. There's nothing wrong with that. And how come you're not ruling out rockonthemic as one of the "Bashers?" Is it because he/she's a Christina fan? I mean, rockonthemic is the one coming in here and bashing people who don't like the song. The people that don't like the song aren't insulting or making death wishes to other people, like rockonthemic is doing...

No people that don't like it come in here randomly to drop little insults here and there, read through this thread, people were calling it a flop in its first week because it didn't do better on iTunes or something like that. As for no one finds her hot this is practically saying it: Insults to Christina have been all throughout this thread, if it's her looks, this song or whatever, if you don't like the song don't post about it, I don't understand why people who claim to hate it obsess so much over the thread and insulting Christina.

You obviously missed many of the posts I was addressing. Just like Do Your Thang was pointing out. Also, the she has no star power I also addressed, saying that I hear that quite often but not necessarily in this thread. Plus, I never said I agree with rockonthemic's behavior, but I am saying why some fans may get annoyed with people shrieking flop the second anything happens. (Like when it didnt fly to #1 on Itunes-people were definitelty crying flop-just go back and search it) Reading posts carefully will help you understand them better as well as having watched this thread throughout its run :)

the amzing thing about christina is that she always get EVERYONES attention some people love her, some hate her - everyone always has an opinion on her
and I think it's a good quality - sure the haters are annoying - but they also prove that there is something about christina - they wouldn't be around if she was a nobody - it's like you can't ignore her - she's here, in your face - like it or not
regardless of the bashing - christina will continue doing her thing, and she does it well

Because it bares repeating... people are allowed to dislike the song (without being personally attacked for it). Trolling, however, is not permitted. If you think someone is trolling pm a moderator. Otherwise, if you enjoy the song, keep on enjoying it and let other people keep on not enjoying it or whatever.

Oddly enough, Christina may outpeak Paris, Beyonce, Jessica, and Janet on pop-I would never have in a million years predicted that. Um... you wouldn't have predicted she outpeaked Paris Hilton??? You know better than saying something like that... Christina's had a ton of hits - 4 # 1's and now 10 top 10's among her 13 top 40 hits... Until a couple of months ago, Paris Hilton had never even had a pop hit!!! Paris is famous for one reason only, and we all know what that is... she's not an actress and she's definitely not a singer... for Christina to outpeak Paris is about as far from unexpected as you can get... it would certainly be a shock though if Paris outpeaked Christina... something I really hope DOESN'T happen...

Lost amidst all the clutter is that this is Christina's 10th top 10 pop hit according to R&R...
Hey is that Rodney King off in the distance??? Maybe he can save this thread!

Well it depends. When Christina's single came out most people thought it was guaranteed to miss top 10. With Paris, it was surprisingly radio friendly and made huge early gains. I think a lot of people expected that it COULD have made top 10. But, I was more trying to make the point that out of all the really hyped comebacks or debuts including music legends, oddities, radio darlings, Christina may outpeak them all. To me, thats impressive. If someone had told you a few months ago that Christina would outpeak Janet, Beyonce, Paris, and Jessica with ANOM, would you say HELL YES to that? I dont think most people would have...in fact, I predict almost no one would have, especially because of Beyonce and the idea that one of the other ladies may have a slam dunk of a song as well. Now, if Justin stalls and JoJo, we can add them to the list (but I want both of them to go top 10 so Im not hoping for that!!) Just for boredom's sake, I looked at how much my stations are playing these girls-Star 94 is playing Christina and Paris a lot, and Beyonce around 30 spins a week. Same with my other station oddly except instead of Beyonce its Jessica at about 30 a week and Beyonce in sight. Thats really bizarre. I NEVER hear Christina's song and I listen to radio fairly frequently. I hear Paris a lot though. I must just be missing Christina's plays :( (I have seriously heard it on radio maybe twice its entire run)

I dont think most people would have...in fact, I predict almost no one would have, especially because of Beyonce and the idea that one of the other ladies may have a slam dunk of a song as well. Gotta respectably disagree with you on this LPL... I can't say that I'm too surprised Christina's new song looks like it's going to outpeak the current releases from the others... Really, the only one that I expected to outpeak ANOM was Jessica's song... Even after hearing Paris' song a few times it sounded OK to me, but nothing special... better than I expected, but that was about all... Janet has a dwindling fanbase... and it's been almost 5 years since she even touched the top 15 at CHR... I would have been pretty shocked if her new song went top 10 or even top 20 even amidst the hype... the negative exposure Michael continues to get isn't helping her either... Beyonce is almost over-saturated with the top 40 audience these days... there's only so much you can stand... her new one's pretty ordinary IMHO... can't say I'm too surprised it's peaked just inside the top 15... Jessica's got a really big fan-base and with all of the media stuff surrounding her and Nick, I figured her new song was a no-brainer to go top 10... it's actually pretty catchy IMHO, but it almost might be "too pop" sounding for CHR at the moment... so I am kind of surprised it's slowing down so much... Christina's got a built-in fan base so they're going to buy and request new stuff no matter what it is... her last major release had 3 top 5's!!! (after the #14 peak of "Dirrty") With that record of prior success, her new release was almost guaranteed going top 10 no matter what unless the first single was something sub-par like "Dirrty"... Personally, I consider ANOM a subpar effort, but I'm hoping that the next 3 singles do a repeat of the "Stripped" effort in terms of top 5 success... The thing is with Christina, I love and own practically every other hit single she's ever released... I'm actually listening to "Lady Marmalade" as I type this... one of her best songs ever IMHO is one that was never even a top 40 hit, "Reflection"...

Yeah it's staying consistent. It's just that last week she was gaining a lot (after effects of July 4th) so the bullet dropped somehow...

once she gains at least +40 spins a day then we're fine. i'm glad the song still is fighting its way to the top

No this range is fine :) The songs above her are dropping so she doesn't need to gain much. Even tho Gnarls Barkley will pass her, if she stays consistent she will pass Fort Minor and Chamillionaire.

shakira is also dropping fast now. I think christina is certain to go to at least #6 or #7.
