I hope so. It all depends on whether she stays consistent as she is now.

Well it depends. When Christina's single came out most people thought it was guaranteed to miss top 10. With Paris, it was surprisingly radio friendly and made huge early gains. I think a lot of people expected that it COULD have made top 10. But, I was more trying to make the point that out of all the really hyped comebacks or debuts including music legends, oddities, radio darlings, Christina may outpeak them all. To me, thats impressive. If someone had told you a few months ago that Christina would outpeak Janet, Beyonce, Paris, and Jessica with ANOM, would you say HELL YES to that? I dont think most people would have...in fact, I predict almost no one would have, especially because of Beyonce and the idea that one of the other ladies may have a slam dunk of a song as well. Gotta respectably disagree with you on this LPL... I can't say that I'm too surprised Christina's new song looks like it's going to outpeak the current releases from the others... Really, the only one that I expected to outpeak ANOM was Jessica's song... Even after hearing Paris' song a few times it sounded OK to me, but nothing special... better than I expected, but that was about all... Janet has a dwindling fanbase... and it's been almost 5 years since she even touched the top 15 at CHR... I would have been pretty shocked if her new song went top 10 or even top 20 even amidst the hype... the negative exposure Michael continues to get isn't helping her either... Beyonce is almost over-saturated with the top 40 audience these days... there's only so much you can stand... her new one's pretty ordinary IMHO... can't say I'm too surprised it's peaked just inside the top 15... Jessica's got a really big fan-base and with all of the media stuff surrounding her and Nick, I figured her new song was a no-brainer to go top 10... it's actually pretty catchy IMHO, but it almost might be "too pop" sounding for CHR at the moment... so I am kind of surprised it's slowing down so much... Christina's got a built-in fan base so they're going to buy and request new stuff no matter what it is... her last major release had 3 top 5's!!! (after the #14 peak of "Dirrty") With that record of prior success, her new release was almost guaranteed going top 10 no matter what unless the first single was something sub-par like "Dirrty"... Personally , I consider ANOM a subpar effort, but I'm hoping that the next 3 singles do a repeat of the "Stripped" effort in terms of top 5 success... The thing is with Christina, I love and own practically every other hit single she's ever released... I'm actually listening to "Lady Marmalade" as I type this... one of her best songs ever IMHO is one that was never even a top 40 hit, "Reflection"... Well then pat yourself on the back and give yourself a cookie, because you are probably the only person who would have predicted Christina would go top 10 and beyonce not. ;)

Are there two remixes we're waiting for... the mix with Big Boi -- and a Junior Vazquez dance version?

I dunno... Anyways, with all the hype and anticipation this release got how could it NOT go at least top 10??? IMHO (is that a word yet?), Beyonce is suffering from some serious oversauration at the moment and her new one isn't nearly as memorable as a lot of her old solo/Destiny's Child stuff... I'll pass on the cookie... actually, I think I would have had to split it with several people here anyways... but uh, thanks! lol. ;)

She is still selling nicely on downloads, lost one spot but its still respectable, and her audience seems to be still pretty consistent. She might be at her same spot from last week's HOT100, what sounds cool and great still for the album release coming up.
RCA just should have already sent the Big Boi remix to radio, they should have done it early this week so it could have a cool impact on radio throughout the week and by the next BB issue she could have gain some more spins and also with downloads, at least crack the TOP5.
But it's still great

I dont think urban will pick up the remix. Urban radio is insulted that Xtina should choose them last.

So I will give another. Me Against the Music (Britney AND f**king Madonna? Are you kidding me?) I could list song titles all day bucko, but no one can rely on "hype and anticipation" to push a song top 10. We have seen it again and again and again and again and again that hype can stop cold before the #10 mark is reached. I think most people expected Beyonce's song to perform better than Christina's on pop. I think a simple read of both topics proves that...I was one of those people. And she is still doing very well (dont get me wrong) but I think people are semi delusional if they think Christina's song wasnt the underdog at all in that matchup or that its not surprising at ALL that Beyonce will not even come close to top 10 on pop. Either way, I stand by my original statement that I think its surprising that she is winning the "battle of the hyped comebacks and first singles" as well as being the only one to go top 10 on pop.

Speaking of that notice the Beyonce fans who kept comparing them haven't been posting in here now? I dont even know if they were all huge Beyonce fans. Some people just like when other artists perform better than Christina so they can "prove" Christina isnt a star. It was Britney, Justin, Beyonce...now that Beyonce is not the best candidate they will probably move onto...maybe Nelly or Justin. Most likely Justin since haters used him before when they toured together. Personally, I dont like the bitchfights between artists. I do like comparisons though especially when a bunch of comparison worthy debuts are out at once. I realize that all the situations are very different and one artist performing better than another isnt a reason to put down the other artist or declare how they have been "beaten and have no star power" I cannot wait for Christina and Beyonce's next singles because Im tired of their first singles, and Justin better be top 10 with his song!

Dirrty I guess Ill expand-I know you will have an excuse for why all the hype and anticipation didnt send that top 10. That one's very easy, I think... IMHO, it was a combination of "Dirrty" being a very sub-par song from her and also the shocking aspect of the "Stripped" album cover REALLY turned off a lot of her long-time fans, me included... Thankfully, she released "Beautiful" next as a single and we all know how well that did... but still, I don't think it or the next few singles completely undid the damage that had been done...I've bought all of the singles online from "Stripped" that I like, but to this day that album cover still repulses me... unless I somehow unearth a promo (or coverless) version of "Stripped", I'll probably never own that entire album... :( So I will give another. Me Against the Music (Britney AND f**king Madonna? Are you kidding me?) As for Brit, I'm trying to figure that one out or more specifically why she was brought up here... her last album's first 2 songs both went top 5??? Did I miss something??? Madonna's new song to me sounded like a smash when I heard it the first time, but quite honestly I think the reason it stalled at #16 it was "too pop sounding" to go top 10 (see Jessica Simpson's current single as more evidence of this phenomena)...

I cannot wait for Christina and Beyonce's next singles because Im tired of their first singles I am in TOTAL agreement with you here, though I do fear there is some oversaturation with Beyonce at this point... just what are their next singles supposed to be or does anyone know???

Beyonce's is "Ring The Alarm"
Fans are assuming that Christina's is "Understand". No official word though.

As for Brit, I'm trying to figure that one out or more specifically why she was brought up here... her last album's first 2 songs both went top 5??? Did I miss something??? No? Me Against the Music, My Prerogative, and Slave all failed to go top 10. My main point was that you said that the "hype and anticipation" was too high for Christina to fail to go top 10. There are a plethora of examples of songs that had just as much hype as hers, if not more (I would argue Britney and Madonna had MUCH MORE hype and anticipation) that fail to go top 10. I think thats the excuse being used by people who dont like the song-"Oh well, its only top 10 because of hype!!!" but we have seen again and again and again and again that hype alone is never really enough to get you top 10...not for Britney, not for Madonna, now not for Beyonce, not for the biggest and most hyped stars out there. (Eminem is the arguable exception) Me Against the Music, by the way, peaked at #11. The bottom line is yes, it got good hype, but its also getting good feedback. Lots of people like it, and its a success on a lot of stations.

Actually, when the Itunes are on, Beyonce is a definitely top 10. Itunes doesnt affect the pop chart which we are clearly discussing. Unless you mean she is going to suddenly overcome an over 200 spin loss to a gain and go top 10?

I am currently listening to the "Urban" remix of this song on Z100... all they did was add a few rap lyrics. She didn't re-sing it or change the beats or anything. I don't think Urban will touch it, neither will the hip-hop oriented rhythmic stations. She'll have to rely on Pop to get the top if that is where she's going. I was really disappointed by the Urban remix... sorry... was expecting more. It's basically the same song with a few rap lyrics in between.
