Most of La Toya's singles were absolutely horrific, but this one isn't bad at all. It sounds a lot like an Evelyn "Champagne" King single and kind of similar to what Janet was doing on her first album. It's her biggest R&B hit, going to #25 R&B in 1983. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1liJxBiuwEc

I remember this record as a kid when it was on the radio and I was trying to record, but my tape player was busted so it would not lock. Anyway it was appalling because my mother can into the room and interrupted me because I was trying to hold the "record" button. I had no idea it was "LaToya" until I looked it up years later. Ever since I got I hold of this about 7 years ago, I have been spinning this.
Actually in all theory, "Heart Don't Lie" is her biggest hit. For one, this actually crossed over without making the Pop Top 40.
