I'm not a huge Bolton fan, but this is one song he recorded that was really good - an up-tempo pop-rock tune that was a nice change from his usual slower ballads. It was one of my favorite songs of 1990.
"Lovers" peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. This was during the time when he was one of the biggest artists on the pop chart. Soon after, his popularity declined on the CHR circuit, and then he was confined to the AC chart only.

One of his better songs. The uptempo songs are Bolton's best songs.

He had an additional Top Five hit from "Soul Provider" and then had many Top Ten pop hits from his smash album "Time Love And Tenderness". Plus, he had a few Top 40 hits from the 1994 album, title escapes me at the moment.

He wrote this with Diane Warren and Desmond Child. One of his best.
