I'm not going to lie. I typically shun big, heartfelt ballads, but I am a huge sucker for the dramabomb that is "Stronger". It is gripping.
Top 5 Things About The Song: 1. The bridge, where Heidi gives one of her best vocal deliveries to date. 2. The lyric "feeling good and almost powerful", because it is honest and doesn't overshoot what it tries to convey. 3. It's arguably more convincing that Britney's song of the same title and sentiment (even though that song is amazing, as well). 4. The eerie downtempo and key changes in the song are surprisingly atmospheric. By that, I mean if you removed the vocals entirely, the song would still be a genuinely rewarding listen. 5. "I'm gonna do this for meeeeeeeeeeee". Teenage hearts soar!
I can't think of another ballad from Sugababes that comes close to this. "Shape" is all right, but borderline maudlin. "Run For Cover" is coolly menacing, but not really a ballad. And shockingly, despite my notorious Girls Aloud advocacy, I think "Stronger" may trump any of their ballads to date (bar MAYBE "Crocodile Tears" - again, though is it a ballad? - and "Nobody But You").

Love this song. My favorite parts are the bridge end the first verse when Mutya says "no more sadness, more sunlight. Everything's gonna be alright."

My favourite Sugababes song ever. Just incredible. I remember the first time I heard it I was moved to tears, and I still get chills even now.

The Babes are my favorite musical group ever basically and this song is one of my favorites of them. To think so much emotion and sentiment could come from such young girls, it's brilliant.
My favorite ballad of theirs is actually Follow Me Home, but this is right up there

This is one of my fav. songs from them too. I also think it beats any Girls Aloud Ballad/ Slow Song. The 'babes just do them better.

LMAO! I will forever cherish the video. So random and devoid of any purpose, yet all so immaculate. Maybe it's simply because the 'babes? I don't know.
I initially held AWDF in such high regard. My adoration has since dwindled and my top Suga-album has been Taller In More Ways for quite some time. The first four tracks, More Than A Million Miles, Just Don't Need This, Virgin Sexy, and that album cover - they still live on though.

LMAO! I will forever cherish the video. So random and devoid of any purpose, yet all so immaculate. Maybe it's simply because the 'babes? I don't know. Actually, the video does have a purpose. Mutya is dating a rich and famous superstar boyfriend and is tired of his self-centeredness, so she dumps him, even knowing that she will lose a lot of privileges doing so. Keisha is in the therapy group letting it all out and leaves, as a sign that she is ready to face her demons and move on. Heidi is a stripper who got tired of being exploited and leaves the job, even if it means she won't have a steady source of income. What do they all have in common? Precisely: they're "stronger", because they finally had the guts to forge their own path and face the music.
