One of my favorite Stevie songs, but I like "Talk To Me" better.

I like this song a lot. It was on the charts around the same time that Nu Shooz was coming out with a (horrible!) song with the same title. I'm wondering if that stopped the climb of the Stevie Nicks song, since radio stations tend not to play two songs with the same title too close together, regardless of whether or not it's the same song. Some theorize that's what happened to "Runaway" by the Corrs in 1995. Since Janet Jackson, an established artist at CHR radio, was also charting with a song called "Runaway", that song received all the airplay and the Corrs didn't get any higher than 37.
Back to Stevie Nicks - this was definitely one of her best songs.

Went to #16 on the Hot 100.

I just heard it this on AT40 flashback (4/26/86) on XM radio last night. When I downloaded the LP version over a year ago I played it then. But then when I heard that old AT40 which I somewhat remember (the contents anyway) I realised that it seemed different from the LP version. Is it me or has this single been remixed, I know there is a club mix as well, though. Anyway this an absolute classic in my eyes. Now that I have found the single version I am going to play it once again!

Is this on Stevie's new GH album? Yes it is! (the LP version). BTW I know for a fact that the LP version is different from the single version. The intro has much more of a hook than the LP mix. I knew what I was hearing was not all in my mind. I haven't heard that undeniable intro "Yes I know you" in almost 21 years since it fell from AT40.

I liked this. I cannot find the video at YouTube. Went to #16 on the Hot 100. It's there! I am surprised that video mix is the edited LP version instead of the 45 mix. www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcEc-_E0ylE Whoever posted the video missed a letter in the spelling for searches. I found this in one shot simply by using the key word "wait".

I like it, but the Rock A Little, The Other Side Of The Mirror, and Street Angel albums were all really weak by Stevie's standards.

Both this and Talk To Me, which came before it, are among my top Stevie songs. It's very much a record of its times, but it just has a really great energy.

I always liked this song. A bit underrated compared to other Steve Nicks bigger songs.
This song can be heard in the Grand Theft Auto 5 video game in the fictional Los Santos Rock Radio station.

Still love this. It's pretty much straight up 80s corporate rock (or as close as anyone from FM ever got to it), but it's so excellently done from all sides. It's nice to hear her on a song this fast too.

I absolutely adore this song. This one and the similarly titled "I Can't Wait" by Nu Shooz were my songs in the spring of 86.

This is a tough one. I love Fleetwood Mac and each of its solo artists. I think Stevie has lots of artistry and a unique style that puts her on top of female vocalists --despite her voice sometimes being jarring. Regarding this song, I love the production, the instrumentation, the structure. Top notch! However I cannot manage to fully like the song as a final product I think Stevie's style and voice don't match the song. She sounds too raw, grave, for such a slick, fast paced song. At some point I'm thinking I can't wait for her to cough and release that phlegm in her throat so that she sounds clearer specially with such a angelic background voices saying "I can't wait, I can't waaait"; or I wish an autotune could fix the instability, wavy sound of her voice right after the second chorus. While the way she speak sings with a slightly dement attitude during the chorus throws me off. I appreciate her effort to do something different and more modern rock / new wave pop at that time. So kudos to her. Also a great song on its own. But I just think her voice is dissonant to the song. I watched the nice video but after the 3rd minute I had to turn it off. Too bipolar sound for my taste. Nu Shooz's was the best ICW of the two, sorry but Talk to Me was the best of the three

I love this.
I discovered this a couple of years back during a DJ's stream on Twitch. I was so surprised that I had missed out on it years earlier. I really like the 80s Synthpop/Hi Nrg meets Rock style of it.
