This urban leaning/pop number was a fast climber on the charts but missed the Top Ten on the Hot 100. It was their fourth single from their LP "17" and believe me the single version is much more lively. Man, I used to jam to this at a skating rink back in '85. Then I heard this on AT40 (March 23rd 1985 episode), I downloaded the song afterwards and made certain that it was the "single" version, once again!
#7 CHR #14 Hot 100 #25 Hot 100 Single Sales
I figured since a lot people already owned the LP they decided not to buy the single. Then again to me, the investment on this 45 would not have been worthless afterall.

I was surprised when I figured out this was by Chicago, because it's so dance-poppy.

Then again to me, the investment on this 45 would not have been worthless afterall. Especially since this was Chicago's last hit with Peter Cetera on lead vocals. By the time their next album came out a year and a half later, Cetera had been replaced by Jason Scheff.

One of my favorite Chicago hits. I like the way the single version was mixed, although I wish they hadn't shortened the first verse.
Interesting that it peaked at #7 in both R&R and on the Hot 100 Airplay chart.
