Was there an album track that made the Rock/Alternative charts in 1994 called "Einstein on the Beach" by Counting Crows?

One of my favorite Counting Crows tracks. Love at first listen and still spin it to this day. Even though "A Long December" and "Mr. Jones" seem to be the tracks of theirs that get the most gold play, I think this is the classic track of theirs that truly exemplifies what this band has done (and still can do) right.

It was actually released on some Alternative compilation CD in the early 90s - I think when Mr. Jones became really popular, people started looking back at earlier recordings by the C Crows, and I guess this was their most popular one (pre-August And Everything After) There were even CHRs that played it (but not that many of them)

Was there an album track that made the Rock/Alternative charts in 1994 called "Einstein on the Beach" by Counting Crows? It was an unreleased track featured on the DGC Rarities Volume 1 collection, and actually went to #1 on the Modern Rock Tracks chart off of unsolicited airplay. Strangely enough it is also their only #1 on that format. From what I understand, Duritz has long hated the song, but I also think it must have grown on him significantly if he considered adding it to their Greatest Hits collection "Films About Ghosts".
