Sappy ballad, I know. But I really like this track because it's so simple -- just some guitars and incredible vocal harmonies. No tricks or gimmicks. Even the video is a simple, black-and-white clip of the guys playing the an empty room. This one made it to #1 in the US and #2 in the UK in 1991. Even though they were an American group, they seemed to fare far better in the UK: They had two Top 40 US hits and eight in the UK. I have to admit that everything else I've heard by them kind of sucks, though. (BTW, even though I like this song, I'm really glad that whole long-haired rock band thing is over)

My #1 song of 1991; was also the first dance song at my wedding.

Still like it today, though not as much then since it has had more than its fair share of airplay.

Better than Frankie J's version.

Beautiful melody and engaging harmonies, but what almost ruined this were pedestrian lyrics like "More than words is all you have to do..."

I really loved this song!
I sort of liked Frankie J's version. The Mynt Rocks Mix of it was very haunting.

Decent, but I prefer their follow-up single, "Hole Hearted".
However, I'll take the original over Frankie's cover.

I like the version that I've heard on Rick Dees several times, that's sort of like the original version (the one that ends with "saying I love....you"), but over that, they keep singing, "La la la la More Than Words", repeat that several times and then sing the last "words" in a very nice sounding harmony, followed by a fast acoustic guitar riff. I believe this version is on one of those "Chicken Soup For The Soul" CDs.
