i don't know why, this song is one of my favorites still today! it was #1 for 4 weeks in may/June 1980 (slightly less then a year before i was born) why did you guys think of this? EDIT: i modified the title to properly reflect what it was called

It was alright. I liked the remake a lot more, though.

For the time period it came out of I would say the song isn't that bad at all.

I don't like this version very much at all. The remake by Pseudo-Echo (summer, 1987) IMO is much better.
This song must have been a huge seller, for it only got as high as number seven on R&R and didn't stay in the Top Ten very long.
It might have peaked at number two on Cash Box, for Rick Dees included it on his "Number Two Hits Of The 80's" show back in May, 1988. I know that Rick used the Cash Box chart for the first few years of his show before switching over to R&R sometime during 1985.

I guess this song is alright...still has that disco flavor leftover from the '70s. And the group name is pronounced "lipsink" right? Just checking....
Hard to believe this track won Record of the Year though.

And the group name is pronounced "lipsink" right? Right... as in "lip synch". I still love this song.

I only like this song when I'm in a party/dance mood, otherwise I can't stand it, it is soooo annoying!!

I like it and the remake. It's one of those songs that defines disco. Like most disco tunes it's grown rather tiresome, but it's still enjoyable once in a while.

DANCE. CLASSIC. PERIOD. I wasn't even born relatively near the year this came out, but I know that I really like this and that this was a pretty good hit.
And, wow, I never noticed that their name sounds like "lip synch". I've just always pronounced it separately, so I didn't notice it.

Haven't heard this in ages. I used to hear it faithfully growing up on the old school R&B stations.

One of the best disco songs. Heard this as an 80s flashback on B96, WGCI, and defunct 103.5 Jammin Oldies when I was younger. I like the original over the 80s remake by Pseudo-Echo but I like that version too.
