A medium-sized A/C hit from early 1988 from Dan's "Exiles" album (which also yielded the #1 A/C smash "Lonely In Love", which I'm sure more of you are familiar with than this one). It is a very eerie sounding song - everytime I hear it, I picture a damp foggy evening in fall, even though that's not the time of year it was out (although I believe it may have been released around that time, or maybe I heard it on such an evening another time). Even though the subject matter is rather depressing, the song itself is a very awesome song and it's a shame it didn't do any better. Maybe if it was released sometime in 1980 or 1981- definitely Mr. Fogelberg's heyday, it would have done well on both the A/C and Pop charts. In 1987, Dan was pretty much passe and didn't have any huge CHR/Pop hits after 1984, when he hit the Top Ten with "Language Of Love". And if my memory serves me correctly, "Seeing You Again" was one of the last (or possibly THE last) song that made any kind of impression on the A/C chart (I believe this song peaked around number fifteen). Definitely one of my favorite Fogelberg tracks of all time!

I heard a clip of it. Just barely remembered it.

Maybe the reason I picture a foggy evening in this song is because one of the lyrics is "in a foggy dream so many years ago". But it has that kind of sound in the first place. I'm not sure if I even heard it back when it was popular. The station I used to listen to would play automated tapes at night and there were many obscure songs I'd hear on that. "Seeing You Again" was one of them. I do remember "She Don't Look Back" and "Lonely In Love" from 1987, when they were popular, though.

I bought this tape when it came out. Here's the deal, I traded it for Don Henley's "Building The Perfect Beast" with my sister, so I was willing to give it up back then.

Fogelberg is one of the most underrated singer-songwriters out there.
