You dont get songs like THAT in the charts anymore. :(

During my first year in college I heard this song. I had no idea what the hell this song was talking about. Did Prince compose this song?

I love this track.
And yes, it was composed by Prince. Although he doesn't take credit for it in the liner notes.

And the song peaked at #23 on the R&R chart during the last chart week of December, 1984.
I thought it was a pretty decent song, but if it had done better on the charts, I have a feeling I would have started finding it annoying, especially the chorus.

this one's a grower when i first heard it i hated it and said it sounded like a Christmas song that was about a gigolo it didn't make sense to me but i really like it now I recently revisited this. It still sounds like she's talking about a gigolo (who's homeless) to me lol, and this is definitely a Christmas-sounding song production-wise.
