...with The Beaver Brown Band.
Peaked at #7 on the Hot 100 in 1984 after peaking at #64 on the Hot 100 in 1983.
From the 3xp album Eddie and the Cruisers.

I kinda like it. Their follow-up, song, "C.I.T.Y." was better.

From the 3xp album Eddie and the Cruisers. And that was pretty much the only reason why this song was his sole Hot 100 Top 10 hit - and also why he managed to snap some additional three or four Top 40 hits in the process. It was from the days when movie soundtracks actually worked as great promotional tools to generate hit records on a regular basis, unlike today. Other than that, John Dougan's descriptions at the All Music Guide as "simply a hack New England bar band", "arguably, the most anonymous band with a hit record in the history of rock & roll" and "imitation of Springsteen" fit like a glove.

When Casey played this recently on AT10, he mentioned that one of his staff members was in "Eddie & The Cruisers 2: Eddie Lives." :)

40 years ago this week, "On The Dark Side" debuted at #94 on the October 8, 1983 Billboard Hot 100. The song was credited to "Eddie & The Cruisers." This was the video for the 1983 release: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On_the_Dark_Side#64 Cash Box
