Do you remember the 1977 album track from the Barry Manilow Live album called "A Very Strange Medley (V.S.M.)" which was a medley of TV commercial jingles Barry Manilow wrote? The commercial jingles in the medley are for Kentucky Fried Chicken ("Have a Barrel of Fun"), State Farm Insurance ("Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there"), Stridex ("Give your face something to smile about with Stridex" - that used to be heard a lot during early 1970's TV commercials for Stridex on Dick Clark's American Bandstand), Band-Aid ("I'm stuck on Band-Aid"), Bowlene Toilet Bowl Cleaner ("Bathroom Bowl Blues" - Look for the 1973 commercial for Bowlene with the jingle on YouTube!), Dr. Pepper ("Most original soft drink ever"), Pepsi ("Join the Pepsi People, Feelin' Free") and McDonald's ("You Deserve a Break Today").
This was a medley that could have been released as a 45 single and even make Billboard's Hot 100 chart but didn't just to worry that the companies of the Barry Manilow penned jingles would sue Barry or something like that.
