Well, Subterranean has now been moved to Saturdays at 11 PM Eastern on MTV2. Which I prefer actually, as I can never usually stay awake at 1 AM (it's original airing time) on Monday mornings.

And even then, Subterranean is just a snippet of what people in college dorms experience everyday: The MTVU Playlist

An Alternative chart which looks like this would be virtually impossible in this day and age. Seal?!?! Jah Wobble?!?! Frente!?!?!?! Their respective contemporaries in 2008 (who, exactly?!) would be shown the door by radio PD's and MD's.
And as for that 120 Minutes playlist... it couldn't capture the zeitgeist any better if it tried to! Plus, reading it is like going back to the days when being 15 years old and not having a care in the whole world were synonymous.
