I just heard this song not too long ago on the AT40 Flashback that I chose out of the hat this weekend (December 26, 1987). I really like the Bangles rendition of this song, even better than the original Simon & Garfunkel version.

I'm usually not a big fan of remakes, but I love this one. Agree with this. One of the few cases where I love the original and the remake. And rarer still, where the gender changes on the remake and still sounds great.

It has this immense, swirling psychedelic vibe that is irresistable. I know the Bangles are considered on the fringe of the Paisley Underground movement, and I'd pick this song as justification.
I love it.
