Josh's thread about Maxine Nightingale made me think of this. It's from about the same time and is one of Stevie's greatest funk hits. I believe it was one of the first largely electronic tunes to achieve major pop success. The song was also notable for its irresistible lyrics, which are all about what it's like to be a fun-loving kid.

I'm actually quite a Stevie Wonder fan, from his '60s stuff to his '80s. This is a good song, though I wouldn't put it among my favorites, which would probably include tracks such as "Uptight", "For Once In My Life", and "Sir Duke" (which I'd say is his best song).
Definitely a talented singer.

I like it.
Will Smith sampled this song for "Wild Wild West."

I love it. It's not one of my favorite Stevie songs but it's still a great R&B record.

I Wish went to #1 on the pop chart in 1977 and was the first single to be released from the album "Songs In The Key Of Life"

Amazing track, and it's not even my favorite single from that album.

The Will Smith sampling of this ruined it for me for a long time, but I finally got that Smith crap out of my head a few years ago and can enjoy the greatness of this song again. I love the nostalgic lyric, and the production is top notch and it makes sense someone would want to sample it.

Will Smith ruined this song with his horrid 1999 hit "Wild Wild West" (from the soundtrack of the equally horrible movie of the same name.) As a result, there are many other Stevie Wonder songs that I prefer over this one.
