This was the song that introduced the British trio to the world. When I first heard it, I thought it'd be an average hit. But it became a worldwide smash, including the U.S. where it was the first of their two #1's. The song also had a funny video (a TV for a head?). Too bad the band couldn't do much more after "The Raw and the Cooked", but Roland Gift did have a part of the TV series "Highlander".

Good song, but overplayed at times.

I never got into the FYC's music. I always thought the lead singers voice was annoying

I dig the FYC's. This song started it all, at least in the states. I then got their previous album and really liked that too. I thought Roland was very good in the Highlander series.

I really like this song. I first heard it when I saw its video getting gold play on VH1 in 1992. It was so weird and a little nerdy. My appreciation for this song has diminished in the past several years, but I still like it fine.

Love this single, though I've never heard any other track by the group.

If you've ever seen the 1986 film "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2," there's a poster in the radio station of FYC. :)
The video to this song ripped off another video but I forget which one.
Decent song. Brings back memories of the spring of 1989 when "Like A Prayer," "Orinico Flow" and "Eternal Flame" were big.

Grossly overplayed, both back in 1989 and nowadays on 80s and AC radio. Never really liked it in the first place.

I liked it at first but then radio killed it. (well that's their job to promote, it happens, so I'm over it.)

One of my very least favorite songs of 1989. My sister loved it at the time, and I remember being very upset with her!

Good song... you rarely ever hear this (or "Good Thing") on an L.A. area radio station...

AC radio plays this too much. Which is ironic because it was never an AC hit when it came out in '89. Seems funny that it became a bigger AC hit as a recurrent after about the early '90s.

The good part about stopping listening to radio is you can recapture favorite songs from the overplay burnout. I've got this on my playlist for a future mix CD, and other former burnouts like King Of Wishful Thinking and Word Up have managed to return to listenable status on past mix CDs.

I wonder what ever happened to these guys. They had 3 hits in 1989 and disappeared.
