This song was one of the strongest off of the Britney record. GReat catchy tune. Should have been single no.2!

This was pretty good, but I thought "Anticipating" would've made a better single.

This song was one of my favorites from the album. I loved how it was so dramatic and I absolutely adored the chanting in unison with the deep voice. I don't see why people say she makes generic songs

It's an awesome song, but I doubt it would have done much as a single. Still one of my favorites from "Britney," though. Her vocals on it are great!

This is okay, but it's one of the weaker songs on Britney's worst album, imo.

This used to be my favorite track on Britney, and it's still one of my top 3.

This one should have been a single instead of "Boys" or "I Love Rock n Roll" It's one of my favorites from the album too!

Yeah on first listen to the album this and Overprotected were my jams. I remember being in IPC class after lunch the day it came out and I had my headphones on and just being speechless when I heard this on first listen!
I can't believe it was basically treated as a filler song. One of the only 2 or 3 songs from Britney that wasn't performed on the DWAD tour, never even the slightest hope of it being a single even after crushing the 'next single' poll on Britney.com with like 28%. Deserved much more credibility than it got!

Although this had to be a single, I'm kinda glad it wasn't since radio would blacklist it too so it's better that it will be remembered as a terrific filler instead of a massive flop. If I was in charge of the Britney singles I would go:
I'm A Slave 4 U Cinderella I Run Away Lonely Boys (US) / Overprotected [album version] (worldwide)

For me the "Britney" era was one big mess.
First of all, "Before The Goodbye" not only should have been put on the album, but should have been the 2nd single after "Slave".
Second of all, "I Run Away" should have been on the album as well.
My single order would have been:
1. I'm A Slave 4 U 2. Before The Goodbye 3. Overprotected or Cinderella 4. Lonely

I think it's one of Britney's best songs. Very good lyrically, vocally, and production wise.

Yeah, her vocals are fantastic. I'm glad the song wasn't a single, though.

It's alright for what it was, but it wouldn't have been a good choice for a single. It was already extremely dated as soon as it turned 2002.

'Let Me Be' and 'That's Where You Take Me' were also superb pop records. Britney is probably my favorite Brit CD along with 'Circus'. I'll give Britney the edge since I don't like two or three songs off of Circus.
