Casey just said that #1 this week is by a man who has his grandmother to thank for his multi-platinum success. I guess that means Uncle Kracker has the AT20 #1 record all to himself at 20 weeks.
2 new entries: Santana/Alex Band & Celine Dion's 5th hit this year.

Thank you for posting this. :)
It's interesting that "Why Don't You And I" is charting even though it's not even Top 30 on R&R's AC chart.
Will Kenny Loggins not make it on AT20 with "With This Ring"?
I wonder if Josh Groban and Clay Aiken will debut next week as per R&R chart. Michael Bolton still isn't on AT20 yet.

Now here's everything all together:
LC TC SONG/ARTIST 02 01 Unwell/Matchbox Twenty 01 02 Drift Away/Uncle Kracker 03 03 Forever And For Always/Shania Twain 05 04 Big Yellow Taxi/Counting Crows f/Vanessa Carlton 04 05 Dance With My Father/Luther Vandross 07 06 Calling All Angels/Train 06 07 Have You Ever Been In Love/Celine Dion 12 08 I Can Only Imagine/MercyMe 09 09 Hole In The World/The Eagles 10 10 If You're Not The One/Daniel Bedingfield 11 11 Sunrise/Simply Red 14 12 Look Through My Eyes/Phil Collins 13 13 Beautiful/Christina Aguilera 19 14 White Flag/Dido 15 15 The First Cut Is The Deepest/Sheryl Crow 16 16 Fallen/Sarah McLachlan 17 17 Waiting For You/Seal XX 18 Why Don't You And I/Santana f/Alex Band 18 19 Peace (Where The Heart Is)/Jim Brickman f/Collin Raye XX 20 Stand By Your Side/Celine Dion
Droppers: From #8: The Game Of Love/Santana f/Michelle Branch From #20: Wrapped/Gloria Estefan
AT20 Extras: It's Too Late/Carole King Forever For You/Daryl Hall & John Oates Tainted Love/Soft Cell
Long Distance Dedications: I Wanna Love You Forever/Jessica Simpson Kiss Me/Sixpence None The Richer Because You Loved Me/Celine Dion
AT20 Archives: 1991: Live For Loving You/Gloria Estefan 1986: The Next Time I Fall/Peter Cetera w/Amy Grant 1974: Cat's In The Cradle/Harry Chapin 1998: This Kiss/Faith Hill 1978: She's Always A Woman/Billy Joel
I was a little disappointed that Uncle Kracker couldn't hold on and break the record, so Casey could tell the story about that (of course, since he told a regular story about the artist last week when the record was tied, who knows what he would have done). Also, there is the possibility that Uncle Kracker could return, but I wouldn't count on it.
With Santana/Branch's "Game Of Love" being removed, that means 2003 will be the first year this decade not containing a song that spent the whole year on the chart. Could this mean the A/C charts are beginning to move a little faster?? NAH!
I wonder, could this be the first time that Casey played two AT20 Archive songs from the 1970's? Also, this is the first time this year (that I know of) that he flashed back to the first year of the A/C chart (1974). Last year, he did it at least once, the weekend of April 13, when he played "TSOP" by MFSB. Next year, if he does it, he'll say "30 years ago this week..." Wow, it's been nearly 30 years since I was two? Where does the time go?
Anotehr rarity - all three songs were the same on all three countdowns. When was the last time that happened?
For the first time in quite awhile, the biggest jumper was more than four spots. "White Flag" by Dido moves 19-14. Could she repeat the success of "Thankyou?" We'll have to see. Also, MercyMe makes a rather decent move, from 12 to 8.
I have a feeling that most songs in the Top Ten this week, along with song 13, will be on the year end chart, which I'm guessing will be featured on the weekend of December 27. It'll probably be a one part show, like last year, since undoubtedly, stations will be playing Christmas music. Or maybe they'll surprise us and air a two-part special on the weekends of 12/27/03 and 1/3/04, but I wouldn't get my hopes up too high.
Well, I think that just about covers everything.

Thank god for Matchbox Twenty. I am so glad they were able to break Uncle Krakers streak. That song is so lame I have no clue how it got to number one for so long. Long live "Unwell"

"I'm a Believer" somehow has 2.649 million (at least) AC audience, judging from the format leaders on Mediabase. The number was boosted greatly by the song's 7 spins on New York's WLTW.

I'm A Believer should be a Gold single at this point. It charted sooner than "Superman (It's Not Easy)" and that song was moved to Gold status, just weeks after it went recurrent.

I'm guessing that if a song is going to be officially "gold," which appears to be the next step down from "recurrent," then it would have to have been in the top 30 for 20 weeks and then be removed because of the recurrent rule. Just a theory.
