Do you remember the 1993 minor hit for Bruce Hornsby called "Fields of Gray" It never made a dent on Billboard, AT40, and R&R.

I heard it just two week at Lowe's. I like just about everything Bruce Hornsby has made.

I remember this song. I didn't like it too much though; kinda depressing sounding.
The song did hit #1 for a week on the AC chart in late October, 1993. Its run was cut short by Michael Bolton's fast-rising hit "Said I Loved You...But I Lied", which I thought was a lot better.

It actually did make a dent on a few charts. It hit #34 on R&R CHR, #69 on the Hot 100, and #7 on Billboard's AC chart.
I like it, but it sounds too much like "The Way It Is" for me. I prefer "Walk In The Sun". I never this on Philly radio growing up, as late '93 was a crowded time for AC radio there were bigger fish to fry.

Good, but the usual Hornsby formula grew thin by this time. Previous album rock hit (from the same album) "Harbor Lights" was miles better.

In general, I prefer his work with The Range, but I like it.
