My second favorite GNR song after "November Rain", this song is still one of my favorite 90's hits. I think it was perhaps the biggest victim of the AT40 chart changeover, as it fell clean off the chart from #10 that week.
What compelled me to start this thread, though, was last night I heard a totally different version of the song than the one I'm used to. Same music, same chorus, completely different lyrics otherwise. Anybody know about this? Why do artists feel the need to record two entirely different versions of a song? (Yes, Jennifer Lopez, I'm looking at you!)

I see....why the lyrics were different. I remember hearing "Don't Cry" way before they released "November Rain" and it charting in the top 40. "Live & Let Die" was their immediate follow-up. Anyway I like the original version a heck of a lot.

The original version on "Use Your Illusion I" is a lot better than the alternate version on "Use Your Illusion II"

LOL! This song reminds me of Rick Dees. He always made fun of the final drug-out note. Once they had a Katherine Hepburn sound-alike singing along to it. Another time they had dogs barking 'cause it went on for so long

I am one of the few that preferred the alternate version. Easily my favorite GNR song.
