Debut single from her sophomore album in short, "When the Pawn..." I like how the chorus and the music gain kind of a frantic tempo. The lyrics are really good and original as well.

I'm only familiar with "Limp" and "Paper Bag" from her second album. Loved them both.

Really good song. It's a shame that Fiona didn't stick around longer as far as popularity goes. Now she seems to be along the same lines as Ani Difranco, or is that just me? "Criminal," "Across the Universe," and this are my favorites by her.

"Across the Universe" is such a good cover of the Beatles classic. Beatles songs can be quite dangerous to remake.

I'm only familiar with "Limp" and "Paper Bag" from her second album. Loved them both. I only know those two and "Fast As You Can." I liked them and I also liked the album title. I have no intentions of buying her album since my ex-friend loves her and was the one who introduced me to her music. Too bad I let outside feelings interfere with my Fiona music.

I like this song alot now but back when it was released I hated it. In fact I didn't like any of the singles off "When The Pawn..." I thought the whole cd sucked compare to "Tidal"

I need to get a copy of this album one way or another. I bought Tidal based on "Shadowboxer" back when she was still a developing artist. I didn't take to the album like I'd anticipated, though.
I wasn't impressed with the When the Pawn... singles enough to buy the album back in 1999.
She's coming out with a new album in the first half of this year.

I'm not much of a fan of this.

This does have a really weird unique vibe, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I like this.

Not only do I love this song, it's also got a great video. They filmed it with cameras that they had to crank themselves, so the video and audio are not in sync most of the time. This cd came out when I was commuting to school and my car broke down and I had to use my parent's van. I would play this track repeatedly on my way to school.
In regards to the terrific song title...I remember trying to type up the entire title for the id3 tag in Winamp and when it tried to write the tag, it just crashed and completely ruined the mp3. Good thing I actually owned the cd!
Peace, Ben

The WTP album was impeccable. This song, too, has some of my favorite lyrics of the Apple canon...I remember singing out every word live last year at her show in Central Park (and that's quite a task, really, given the pace!). She's a wonderful lyricist and songwriter. "Preternaturally gifted", as they say.

Fearless track, great lyrics.
Fiona is one of my favorite artists, WTP is one of my favorite albums and "Paper Bag" is one of my favorite songs. She's just an amazing musician.
