At first I didn't know what to think of the first single from the "Aaliyah" album, since I enjoyed Aaliyah's voice and the middle eastern synth sound+beat but was turned off by Timbaland's contributions to the song. Once the video hit (her sexiest.) ; I was in love with the song. The song peaked at...#15 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles #13 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay #50 on Radio Songs #59 on the Hot 100 #38 on the Rhythmic #8 on Urban #25 on Rhythmic Radio in June 2001 also was Top Ten on MTV or MTV2's playlist and #30 on MTV's Top 50 and #77 on BET: Notarized Top 100 of 2001... Making the Video

There's an actual official Timbaland-less version of the song. I don't mind Timbaland's part though.
I really liked this song I was surprised that this song didn't make it to the Top 20 of the CHR/Rhythmic chart when it was a Top 10 Urban song.

Boring. Bland. Weak. Overrated, like most of her songs.

this is a good song, it was really fresh at the time and somehow still sounds it. very stylized vocals from aaliyah, and i think timbaland's part is good. freaky video.

This was an incredibly edgy/risky first single. Not radio-friendly at all, but a great track none-the-less. It's in my Aaliyah top 5.
I personally think this is her best vocal performance, Timbaland's production is on point, and the video was a treat as well.

Wonderful song, the Middle Eastern production & vibe made it a good song, but Aaliyah was the only one who could truly bring this song to life.

I didn't really like it at first, but it works its way under your skin until you can't help but like it. I agree that it was a risky first single, especially considering the more radio friendly material that would be released later.

It's not bad, but not as good as some of her other singles.

One of my favorites from Aaliyah....the beat is killer, and I'm sorry...Timbaland's rap is off the chain! I remember when this came out and how the label did very little to promote this.....big mistake as it could have been an across the board smash!!

I never got into it. It would probably be eerie for me if I see the video again. The part where she's sleeping (while lying on her back) and her body is suspended in the air was a weird foreshadow.

I loved it at the time. Hit #4 on my daily countdown back in July 2001! It almost retired on my chart. :o

It was really hot and edgy then which is funny because if it were released now, it would sound bland and typical.
