Awesome one hit wonder by Benjamin Orr a former member of The Cars. Born September 8, 1947. He died on October 8, 2000 of pancreatic cancer. I remember it was an AT40 extra shortly after the news broke out.
According to the Charts website it peaked at #14 on 1/30/87. It may have peaked at #13 on Rick Dees and #21 on AT40? Not sure of those peaks though.

It peaked at number 14 on R&R. On Billboard, it petered out at number 24. I remember being surprised at how poorly it fared on the charts, since it seemed very radio friendly, plus U93 played it all the time.

Great song! I was appalled at the length of it's chart run. When I lived in the UK I did not hear it until it was on AT40 and Scott Shannon's "Rockin America Top 30".
