This was the lead single off of her smash debut album Dangerously In Love that propelled Beyoncé Knowles, the lead singer of trio Destiny's Child in 2003 to a higher level of fame and success. She teamed up with her boyfriend Jay-Z on this one. This one went on to peak at number one on the Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks, Rhythmic Top 40, Billboard Hot 100, Top 40 Mainstream, and Top 40 Tracks charts. See the hot video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=INXIy-UQEMIAt first, I got annoyed by how often this was played on the radio and on all the music video channels. Then the dance mixes by Junior Vasquez came out and then I began to like the song more. This is my favorite Beyoncé/Jay-Z collaboration.

Very good song, her best solo effort by a million light years.

This is a classic song and one of Beyonce's best! Jay-Z has a cool rap in the song, the horn was fantastic, and it still sounds good despite how much it has been played..
However, I did not understand the lyrics to this song for a long time- I had to look them up online, lol.

Possibly her best song outside of Destiny's Child.

I would have liked this song a lot better if it was just Beyonce without the Jay-Z (c)rap. That ruined it for me.

I thought that was disappointing. The sample is the only thing that made the song. I wonder why the dance remixes had to be renamed to "Krazy In Luv" too

I wonder why the dance remixes had to be renamed to "Krazy In Luv" too Junior had mentioned at one point that the sample was so "schizophrenic" sounding. Production-wise, he was doing really dark-sounding stuff at that time during the tail-end of the Earth era. He also did a non-dance mashup mix of this song using the instrumental from Lumidee's "Never Leave You (Uh Oh!)." It worked really well. He couldn't get clearance for using the instrumental so the mix never saw a release. Junior streamed the mix last Summer on his website last year right after he did mixes for "Deja Vu."

I loved this when it first came out. I still like it now, just not as much.

I adore this song, much more so than I did when it first came out. I am usually not a fan of rappers guesting (ie taking over) on R&B songs but Jay-Z actually had a great rap and it felt like it belonged in the song. This ties as my favorite Beyonce song with "Get Me Bodied". I've noticed that I enjoy Beyonce's hard hitting dance tracks much more than her ballads, which is why I guess I didn't really care for DIL and much prefer B-Day (although I do love "Resentment"). She infuses her dance songs and performances with so much energy that I can't help but like them more; she reminds me of Tina Turner in that way. Also I've always been a fan of Beyonce and her peculiar lexicon, which she always sees fit to sprinkle her songs iwth.

One of those songs I loved then hated then loved again. I like it today. The best Beyonce & Jay-Z collabo.

This is one of my very favorite tracks and I have no qualms calling it an instant classic. It's a ferocious solo debut single & hands down Beyonce's strongest. This is also Rich Harrison at his very best. The only track he's ever done that come close to matching the immediacy of CIL is Amerie's "1 Thing."

She started out with a bang, if you don't count "Work It Out". Something tells me she will never reach this amazing heights again... "To the left, to the left" "All my single ladies, all my single ladies" Loved this! It really showed what a talent she is, and really showed that she could get it done without the other two! One of my faves!

One of my faves! LOL. I loved "Irreplaceable" when it was out, but now it just sounds so corny to me. As for "Single Ladies", I don't think it can even begin to compare to "CIL"'s greatness. And, no, I'm obviously not talking about commercial success. ;)

I was beginning to wonder if we were as ruptured by the actual quality of the song as much as we were by the general hype of the moment-----but nope, a recent spin revealed this to still be that jam. An instant, propulsive, delirious cannonball of a song that Beyonce bombed us with back in 2003, back when I actually cared greatly for her. She. Will. Never.

Always will love this song. Takes me back to the scorching summer of '03! "Crazy in Love" was in-yo-face funky and at the time it wasn't what I expected from Beyoncé at all. She showed us all who the real bad assssss chick is.

This was the song of '03; PERIOD. I miss this Beyonce, I don't like this Beyonce we have now. She was fresh, but I guess she just matured. And I agree, this is her best work.
