Machine. There couldn't get machine to fit into the headline. This is yet another song from 1987. Miami Sound Machine hit big in 1986. They had a hit album with 4 hits from it. In 1987 when they released their second album, they emphasized Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine. "Betcha Say That" was the second single from this album, but I was surprised at how quickly this song peaked and dropped. On the R&R chart it went 38-32-30-36-off. Now if memory serves me, this is how it went on the Billboard Hot 100. 92-71-63-54-53-49-44-36-36-49-95-off. It seemed that nearly as soon as I became familiar with this song, it fizzled out. I like this song the best of the other singles on the LP. "Anything For You," was too slow and "1-2-3" was too dumb. I did like "Can't Stay Away From You," and the first single "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You."

JAM! I like all her singles from that era. Her first several albums were fun.

Great song. I also liked Surrender but I don't think it was released.

Didn't really care much for this song at the time, and haven't heard it since, so I don't know if my opinion has changed.
(waits for reception to post a link) :)

I liked the song and think it's such a shame that it tanked so soon.
Yet crap like "Faith" and "The Way You Make Me Feel" sailed on up to #1.

I loved Surrender as well. Betcha Say That was really good too. I didn't know it was released so the stations where I live must not have played it too much.

I can't remember how this song goes. I'll have to look it up on Youtube.
