Anyone remember this show? It was a half hour radio show, hosted by 20: The Countdown Magazine man Jon Rivers. He gave us a few inspirational messages and played five songs, mainly Adult Contemporary, but several upbeat songs. I noticed that, in the late 80s, he would play a song or two that you never hear anymore (i.e. on a show I heard in April, 1988, the list of songs he played included "I Will Be There" by Glass Tiger, "I'll Be Over You" by Toto, "(I Just) Died In Your Arms" by the Cutting Crew, "Cant'cha Say" by Boston, and "I Think It's Love" by Jermaine Jackson. True, you hear the Cutting Crew song about every other hour on all the 80s stations, and Toto's ballad on many AC stations, but the other three - only in the store, if you're lucky. Even back in 1988, when this show was aired (although, I seem to think that this song may have been a rebroadcast from 1987), you never heard those songs anymore.
Anyway, does "Powerline" still air anywhere? I never hear it, but then again, I never hear any of Casey Kasem's shows and we all know full well that they're still around.

92.3 in Honolulu used to carry the show on Sunday morning. The call letters were either KULA or KXPW at the time. I have a clip of the theme song somewhere on cassette. If I want to hear the show these days I believe I'll get it online somewhere. www.powerline.org

Billy Burke hosted a show like this as well, called Victory. Not sure if it still airs.
Before he started his Christian programming, Burke was "the newly famous Billy Burke" spinning CHR on WCAU and later hip-hop on Q102 in Philadelphia. Quite a transition!

Listened to it all the time on KDWB until they dropped within the past year. However, it was tough wake up at 5 am on Sunday after a late night of work on Saturday. Great Show!!!

I used to listen to it. I think it's still around.

This aired every morning before At40 during my listening days. Sounded like an AC program then, and would even moreso sound like one now, since the dividing line between AC and Pop has expanded to inexplicable proportions since I was a regular At40 listener in 2000.
I listened to this most weeks, not because I wanted to, but because of the erratic start times of AT40 here week by week. It was supposed to be a 9AM start time, but I could have turned the radio on at 9am and they may have already been at song #35 during some weeks.

This show still exists. Sirius Satellite carries it on their Christian talk channel. If you do a Google search, there are terrestrial radio stations that carry it, though they may be Christian stations.
The station that used to play it here years ago played it at 6:30am.

What about another Christian music show called "Sonrise"?

Once I remember hearing LeAnn Rimes's version of "You Light Up My Life" on "Powerline."
