I have ignored this title track like forever, man! One day I heard this on AT40 (the archive) and I fell in love with this song after all these years. I play this song at least twice a day. I have been doing so for over two months now, however it is not eligible for my personal chart. Knowing that it's my chart and my decision, the gereral rule of thumb is this. If it made the Top 15 on any of the major charts such as CHR & Urban it is ineligible. Back to the record, I love it's rhythmic intro (I always have actually) and the rest of the song can be described as rock n soul. Whoever sang back-up, these women did an outstanding performance.

This was a big follow up to Bruce's monster commercial success "Born In The USA". Since he was following such a huge commecial success as that, he tried to balance the fine line of his more intimate and less commercial work with the pop success of Born In The USA. It seems like a lot of songs on the album reflect Bruce's failing marraige to Jullianne Phillips, thus he really does not play many songs from the album live any more. Whoever sang back-up, these women did an outstanding performance. I believe Mrs. Bruce Springsteen (Patti Scialfa) sang background vocals on Tunnel of Love.

I'm gonna bump this up so people can appreciate. I'd still say that it's my favorite song from him.

Great song. My favorite single from that album.
