not sure if the thread for this was started, but oh well...
I have always loved this, the song had such a strong message, and was sung very well... what did you guys think?

Pretty good song... he sounded a lot like Elton John (even moreso on his followup, "Beautiful In My Eyes").

This is a really good song. In fact I just put the CD on. It has held up well.

Sorry guys, this is up there with "Butterfly Kisses" and "Christmas Shoes" as a song that instantly makes me cringe. I like the occasional sentimental song(see "Standing At The Edge Of..." ), but this is just too much.
Maybe I find something pathetic about the way "Jessie" strings Mr. Kadison along ("I swear this time it's gonna last" ) and he just goes right along with it ("You can sell any dream to me" ). Maybe I just don't like songs where singers mention their pets (Barry Manilow's "Mandy" is another I hate). Maybe I just associate the name "Jessie" with that girl on "Saved By The Bell". For whatever reason, this song just bugs me, and now that I've read this, it's going to be in my head the rest of the day.

I am correct to assume you're not a fan of "Me And You And A Dog Named Boo"? Anyway, I liked "Jesse". It became somewhat of an unlikely hit. First time I heard was on what was then called Casey's Countdown and I didn't think it would go anywhere.

It peaked at #10 on the AC chart as mentioned on the US Music Survey.

I never liked this guy or any of his songs. He did have a unique voice though.

"Jessie" by Joshua Kadison first made the AC chart in Summer 1993 but didn't hit the Top 40 Pop charts until late 1993-early 1994.

Hehe... haven't you ever seen "Can't Hardly Wait"? It's about a dog! So is Henry Gross's "Shannon". Is this the infamous Casey Kasem/dead dog song?
