I'm not even bothered by the overwrought vibe of the song sentimentally and lyrically because that vocal performance Whitney pulled off here was OTHER-WORLDLY. Few vocal performances of such magnitude were put to record. The way she belts and holds the money notes and doesn't even stop from the moment that amazing bridge comes until the end when she goes for that even higher key change...whew that woman was blessed. RIP!

I've always liked this one. Her vocal performance elevates it to a level that it wouldn't reach with a lesser vocalist.

Album version - an over the top bombastic screamfest
Live version at Saratoga Springs, New York - outstanding live vocal performance and one of her best ever.

This and all the other Whitney ballads were commonly played on the AC stations. This is okay, but I prefer other songs from her.

Now this is one of my favorite Whitney ballads. The passion, the vocal, those lyrics. It's just soooo good. Probably in my top 5 of Whitney ballads!
