This is my ultimate favourite Billy Ocean song and the 12" version of this song is hard to find. The only time I heard this on the radio (the extended version) was when Walt Luv on his "The Countdown" played it during his "peak week" @#7 during the early fall of 1985. You know did such a poor recording at the time from the radio because the power went out and the batteries to my radio were weak as well. What a mess! Anyway I finally found the 12" version after all these years about a year ago.
As far as the content of the song, the lyrics are to the point. At the same time I did not expect this to be released as a single nor expect it to climb on the Mainstream charts. I guess many pop fans were so impressed with his first three singles from the "Suddenly" LP they decided to go with a different Billy Ocean record. The better single choice, even though I like this much more than any other Billy Ocean song, would have been his minour AC hit "The Long And Winding Road" (a Beatles cover). #22 CHR/Pop #24 Hot 100 #10 Hot R&B #07 R&R Urban #49 United Kingdom

The B side of Billy Ocean's "Mystery Lady" was another version of "Carribean Queen" called "African Queen".

Not a bad song, though not my favorite Billy Ocean song.
